CMM SCANNING PROBE SYSTEM Renishaw is introducing the SP25M scanning probe, a two-in-one probe that can perform scanning for form and touch-trigger sensing for size and position. The compact unit uses innovative Renscan™ technology to provide flexibility, while maintaining excellent scanning performance on both traditional coordinate measuring machines and vision systems. Measuring only 25 mm in diameter, the SP25M can be mounted to motorized articulating heads, such as Renishaw's PH10M and may be fitted to a range of extension bars to allow access to deep part features. Its compact size and lightweight design uses Renishaw's unique isolated optical metrology. This approach measures probe deflections independently, rather than using transducers mounted to stacked probe axes. A set of interchangeable scanning probe modules is available, each optimized to suit a range of stylus lengths from 20 mm to 200 mm. DRILL FAMILY Seco has expanded its CrownLoc™ drill system to include an M-geometry crown optimized for hard-to-drill materials and a unique chamfer module that allows chamfering and drilling to be performed in one operation. The M-geometry is tough enough for super alloy and difficult stainless steel applications. Heat generation is reduced via small edge preparation -- minimizing cutting forces and the increased back taper -- reducing friction. The sharp cutting edges and large conical front rake clearance reduce workpiece work hardening. In addition, this new cutting geometry reduces residual stresses and minimized burrs at the hole exit. The CrownLoc chamfer module, which uses two inserts, each with two cutting edges -- offers increased productivity and security. The inserts are available in Seco-Carboloy's toughest grade TD400. The CrownLoc drill system features a patented precision-ground interface of interlocking V-grooves to ensure rigidity and exact positioning of the crown. The award-winning OMEGA® I™Server is a simple and easy way to connect serial devices to an Ethernet network and the Internet. When you type its name in a Web Browser, it serves Web pages that let you quickly and easily configure the device for your specific application without any special software. Getting started with the iServer is very simple and easy because it can take a dynamically assigned IP address from a DHCP server on your network. This DHCP client capability makes it easy and simple to start using this device on almost any Ethernet network. You can easily assign a static IP address to the iServer instead of the dynamic IP address, if necessary. The IP address can be assigned locally with its serial connection, as well as remotely over an Ethernet network using Teinet or a Web browser.

Designed for use in indoor environments, the Type 1 Screw Cover Wiring Trough provides protection and a clear path for power and lighting control cables to locations throughout a building. The product features a unique joining method that attaches end sections without fasteners or heat. The wiring trough is constructed of unpainted 16 or 14 gauge galvanized steel which provides protection against contact with other internal electrical components and against a limited amount of airborne contaminants. Mounting holes on the back, along with the flat cover design, allow the wireway to be quickly and conveniently mounted flush with walls and ceilings. Keyhole screw slots on the flat covers provide easy access to the internal components and allow the cover to be removed without removing
the screws.
The Yellow Jack Pumper -- Sanitation all plastic suction hose has a smooth interior for optimum flow and unique interlock construction for flexibility and kink resistance. It is crush resistant and an external wear rib prevents damage from abrasion. The 8mm diameter Pile Driver all-metal inductive sensor offers a life span of more than twenty times of conventional plastic-faced sensors. Fully flush mountable, Pile Driver's 100% stainless steel housing protects against application hazards such as lubricants, cutting fluids, metal shards and target impacts.
The battery powered DPD meter, CCM182, can be easily brought right to the field instrument for calibration. It converts the colour change to a digital readout in a range of 0.05-6 mg/L, which can then be input into the online measurement for a calibration. The unit can also be used to measure pH and Cyanuric acid as well as free and total chlorine.
The Steadfast disposable rotary drum filter has a 6" diameter by 7" long. The molded polycarbonate "throw away" device is driven by a companion reusable, variable-speed, electric drive and holder assembly. The rotary drum filter consists of a polycarbonate outer shell, housing a drum made from porous UHMW Polyethylene (15-45 micron sieve). Test results showed slurry-processing rates of 1 to 3 liters per minute and a batch processing capacity of 900 liters if continuously operated for an 8-hour period. It was designed for applications in laboratory, pilot plant or other small capacity production applications.
The Mini Series has been designed for demanding miniature applications such as data storage drive, miniature pumps and dispensing systems, micro-actuators and laser and optical focusing mechanisms. Comprised of small diameter, precision rolled, lead screw assemblies, the series provides reliable precision motion control. The Mini Series is offered in anti-backlash and general-purpose lead screw assemblies. The lead screws are made of 303 stainless steel and are available with a proprietary long-life TFE coating. Designed to run smoothly and efficiently on Kerk's precision-rolled screws, the assemblies' maintenance-free nuts are manufactured with self-lubricating polymers.
Chainflex® CF-13 is a DeviceNet cable made specifically for use in cable carriers. It meets the specific requirements of the OVDA DeviceNet standards and pairs communication with control in one twisted pair, continuous-flex bus cable that offers maximum cycle life even at a very small bending radii. The cable is specially designed for 10x diameter flexibility using a PUR jacket and offers resistance to abrasion, oil, cooling fluids and other harsh environments. Fast-curing epoxy adhesives from Devcon require no
fixturing. Available in three formulations, they are ideal for a multitude of OEM assembly applications as well as for repairs. They offer good dielectric strength and withstand service temperatures of 40° to 200°F (dry). A
general-purpose adhesive/encapsulant, 5 Minute® Epoxy bonds metals, fabrics, ceramics, glass, wood, and concrete in all combinations. With a mixed viscosity of 150,000 cps, 5 Minute® Epoxy Gel is a
thixotropic, nonsagging gel with excellent gap-filling properties. A thixotropic, nonsagging gel, One Minute™ Epoxy Gel bonds to metals, glass, fiberglass and ceramics and can be used to repair cracks or fill holes.
The PartScan PS7600 Part Selection and Verification Scanner is specifically designed for monitoring bins in sequential assembly applications. Prominent indicator LEDs with multiple display modes help eliminate part selection errors. The two-profile design provides an integrated appearance and a wide choice of brackets and protective shrouds meet specific application requirements. The PS7600 is easy to install and use and features a monitoring range of up to 3 m. Two frequencies help to eliminate
crosstalk. Users simply program a PLC to light the appropriate scanner indicators on the bin with the correct part for the next step in the assembly operation. When the scanner is blocked by a hand entering the bin, the scanner energizes its output to indicate that a part has been removed. The PLC verifies that this is the proper bin and moves on to the next bin for part selection. If a part was picked from the incorrect bin, the PLC can energize an
alarm or indicator to signal the error.
The P261X series drive/indexer compact packaged microstep system features enhanced EMI and ESD immunity. Utilizing state-of-the-art surface mount technology, the unit includes an indexer, driver, and power supply in a housing measuring only 4.88" w x 7.5" l x 3.0" d, capable of controlling virtually any hybrid step motor from 15 to 300 oz-in output torque. Typical applications include X-Y automation, engraving machinery, medical instrumentation, rotary table control, semi-conductor processing equipment, plant automation and robotics.
Wieland has expanded its line of remote I/O modules with the addition of the ricos four channel digital AC-input modules for 115V and 230V circuits. Featuring the same dimensions and wiring features as standard expansion modules with diagnostic features available through the bus-coupler interface, these ricos modules allow direct AC input for any sensor/initiator applications driven by AC voltages at 115V or 230V. Akro-Mils has introduced a new storage line of steel shelving, pick racks and cabinets. The steel shelving systems are suitable for small parts, are quick to assemble and may be ordered independently or with bin systems. Manufactured from 22-gauge steel with a backed-enamel finish, the shelving system stands 1900mm high by 915 mm wide. Shelf depth is 305mm or 457 mm with a weight capacity of 160 kg per shelf. Compression clips support the shelves, allowing for quick height adjustments. Both the 457 mm deep and the 305 mm deep shelves may be fitted with polypropylene bins with hopper fronts. The Telemecanique Twido is an ultra-compact programmable controller with features usually found only in larger
PLCs. Designed for small and medium-sized control systems with between 10 and 200 I/O and requiring simple or advanced processing capabilities, the Twido PLC is suited for commercial and industrial users and machine builders using standard designs. With a choice of modular or compact body types, processors and wiring options, snap-together modules and Windows-based programming software, Twido covers the entire nano range with a simple platform that shares I/O modules, expansion modules and accessories. The Compact Twido PLC is suited for simple standalone installations such as automatic doors, vending machines, pump and lighting systems. This user-friendly, easy-to-install version features a power supply, processor and I/O packed into an enclosure as small as a
half-litre milk carton. The 20 I/O, business-card-sized Modular Twido PLC is designed for repetitive machines such as car wash gantries, lifts,
palletizers, compressors, wood working machines and industrial washing machines. The main system modules of both the modular and compact PLCs can be combined with additional discrete, analog or mixed I/O for larger configurations.
Two new Enclosed Series incremental encoders for motor mount applications feature new technology that reduces size up to 30 percent and improved accuracy up to 160 percent, compared to earlier models. The Dynpar E12 and E14 optical encoders measure motor speed and shaft rotation in commercial and light industrial applications, including medical ultrasound and dialysis equipment, photocopiers, elevators, desktop printers and light-duty industrial machinery.
Stafford's Standard Metric Collars include one- and two-piece, clamp-style designs in 25 sizes from 3 mm and 80 mm and hinged collars in 16 sizes from 6 mm to 50 mm. Featuring a smooth core to evenly distribute their holding power and to protect shafts from damage which can be caused by set-screw type collars, the standard metric collars are fully split and machined from steel and stainless steel, with alloy socket cap screws.
EXAIR's new air operated 316ss Line Vac Conveyors convert ordinary hose or tube into an in-line conveying system for food products, pharmaceuticals and other bulk materials. The 316SS Line Vac features large throat diameters for maximum throughput capability. The conveyors eject a small amount of compressed air to produce a vacuum on one end with high output flows on the other. Response is instantaneous. Regulating the compressed air pressure provides infinite control of the conveying rate. Applications include hopper loading, scrap trim removal, tablet transfer and packaging.

Sumitomo's NF-DA2200 Polycrystalline Diamond
(PCD) insert has a traverse rupture strength equal to that of C7 cemented carbide
and performs best in both rough and finish machining of aluminum work pieces with the potential to replace carbide. Sumitomo uses ultra-fine diamond grains in NF-DA2200 to ensure the sharpest cutting edge for high lustre surface finishing with fewer burrs. The extremely strong cutting edge also results in superior chipping resistance in milling applications. The added edge strength allows for a higher feed per tooth, so less inserts are required in a milling cutter. Ideal for non-ferrous applications, the inserts can be used for rough and finish milling of aluminum wet or dry.
