BioFit® introduces a new armrest that provides easier adjustability and greater comfort on many of its ergonomic chair models. BioFit has replaced the knob for armrest height adjustment with a finger-activated control that is easier to use. Instead of the twisting motion required to turn the knob, a seated chair user uses fingertips to activate a control located immediately under the armrest's pad. The user adjusts armrest height by applying minimal pressure at the curved control point. The PICO-GUARD™ fiber optic safety system directly replaces mechanical safety interlock switches to safeguard potentially dangerous machines. This unique combination of control-reliable, non-contacting photoelectric and fiber optic technologies is versatile, efficient and easy to install. It combines a controller and various plug-in, snap-lock PICO GUARD optical safety interlock switches and plastic fiber optic cable to monitor doors, gates and hard guards. The system eliminates the need to run electrical wiring to the machine or hazardous area. Durable fiber optic cables can be easily routed to multiple machine guard points or hazardous areas, making conventional copper wires that carry electrical current to the guarded points no longer necessary. The controller includes four separate optical channels. Each of the four channels can control multiple optical safety interlock switches in the same optical network. Additional optical safety interlock switches can be instantly added to any channel simply by inserting them into the fiber optic loop for that channel. If desired, each channel can control a separate zone of a machine such as doors, entry gates, guards, etc. Regardless of the optical safety interlock switches used, when the system detects a break in the optical beam such as a movement in a guard or door, or receives a safety stop request, it provides a stop signal to the machine control circuit to protect personnel from hazardous equipment. In addition to personnel protection, the system can protect equipment, critical tooling, or other critical materials in process.
The UVEX
LSK-series laser safety eyewear has a wrap-around modern look, equivalent to name-brand sunglasses. The eyewear features adjustable earpieces, rounded nose support, side eye protection and standard antifog and antiscratch coatings. Designed for diffuse viewing, they vary in optical density from 1 to 7 over a range of 190 nm to 10.6 um. The LSK eyewear covers the major helium neon, argon and krypton ion, diode, and Md:YAG laser lines (including YAG harmonics). This line of eyewear transmits up to 65% of visible light.
The CFR-1™ comfort fit respiratory system features a reusable facepiece with easy to replace disposable filters. Its soft facepiece seal provides comfort and protection and a built-in exhalation valve removes air quickly for easier and cooler breathing. When installed in noisy manufacturing areas, SONEX® panels and curtains absorb reverberation and block sound from transmitting throughout the shop floor. Together they reduce the distracting echo effect caused by sound bouncing off hard parallel surfaces. The panels are wall-mounted with adhesive to absorb noise. The curtains are installed as partitions between work areas to contain noise. Both are made from illbruck's sound-adsorbing willtec® foam, which is Class 1 fire-rated for flame spread and smoke density. The SONEX panels can be coated with Hypalon® to resist dust and oils. The convoluted panels provide superior absorption of sound waves, helping to absorb the noise from high-speed tools as well as compressors and motors. SONEX curtains feature a layer of foam quilted to two layers of vinyl facing that resist abrasions, moisture and oils. A loaded vinyl barrier can be included to increase noise containment. They can be manufactured into a variety of configurations for customized acoustical enclosures or noise barrier walls.

(RTO) systems combine effective destruction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with dependable operation to comply with emission regulations. The ThermaGrid™ RTOs are effective in controlling chemical emissions and VOCs in a wide variety of industries. They use a
gridded-ceramic heat transfer block that controls VOC emissions and other chemical emissions at high-destruction efficiencies with low-energy consumption and minimal maintenance. These RTO systems are available in two-bed designs and in three-bed designs for increased VOC removal efficiency. The straight-through flow design stays clean and resists plugging and maintenance problems that plague
other RTO designs.
The AX series pneumatic powered lift table has lifting power provided by a rugged air bag. These stationary tables have a 1,000 to 8,000 lb capacity with a choice of 21" or 24" travel. The air bag delivers the same speed and control of other power sources, yet requires none of the maintenance. Furthermore, the work area is free of the slip hazards of leaking oil that can occur with hydraulic powered tables. The bag resists punctures and damage from chemicals. The LadderUP® Safety Post is an extension device for fixed ladders which allows workers safe, easy entrance and egress from these areas. It is an easy-to-install, easy-to-use extension device for fixed ladders. Featuring rugged tubular construction, the spring balanced LadderUP permanently mounts on the top two ladder rungs, telescopes up and down, locking in the upright position. This enables service personnel to enter or exit the roof hatch, vault or manhole in an upright and balanced position, as though the interior ladder extended above roof or grade level. A handy release lever allows the LadderUP to be lowered to its retracted position.

Cool Offs, a neck and head wrap is designed to protect and provide comfort to workers who must function in environments with excessive heat. Cool Offs feature unique non-toxic cooling crystals that are activated by water, allowing this composite to absorb and lock in water to cool from 24-72 hours. Reuse by simply soaking in cold water for 10-15 minutes. For an extended cooling effect, just refrigerate or place in the freezer. Lightweight and comfortable, Cool Offs can be worn around the neck or tied as a headband. The unique closure allows for a secure fit. The outer shell is 100% cotton and comes in three colors and patterns: camouflage, cowboy blue or red.
This grease resistant rubber matting withstands oily and wet environments. Its large openings allow liquids and debris to drain through for a dry standing surface. A beveled edging on three sides provides added safety. Edging on the fourth side is available by request. The matting's 7/8" thickness provides anti-fatigue relief.
Four new helmet accessories are now available for users of the Speedglas® 9000 auto-darkening welding helmet. The Sweatband in Leather is a direct replacement for the plastic sweatband that comes with the helmet. Three sturdy snaps hold the leather sweatband firmly in place on the helmet's adjustable headband. The Head Protector is made from flame and spark-resistant Endura® material. It attaches to the top of the helmet via two elastic loops that fasten around the hemet's mounting hardware, as well as a Velcro® strip at the top of the helmet. The Throat & Side Protector is a set of three leather pieces that extend the helmet's protection along the sides and bottom of the welder's neck. The three leather pieces can be attached or removed, as desired, via their Velcro fastening strips. The Throat Protector has a bib-like design to extend spark protection along the entire front of the welder's throat and upper chest. Its flame-resistant Endura® material fastens via four Velcro strips that loop over the helmet's headband.
The disposable sweatbands are available in three styles to suit all applications and are designed to provide comfort to workers who must function in excessive heat environments. The sweatbands can be worn under hard hats, welding helmets and sandblasting hoods. They are 8 5/8" long and will absorb excess perspiration. The Standard style is made of cellulose sponge while the Deluxe offers a reinforced sponge with fine porosity. The same sponge is used in the Clip-on model with handy clips for use with hard hats and suspension systems.
