The PST Softstarter is based on the same easy-to-use concept as a mobile telephone. Using the simple keyboard (with only four buttons) you can communicate with it and get information back. The PST speaks your own language. There are no messages in coded letters and figures. Just plain, easy-to-understand words. It minimizes stress on your electrical network and all its components. It provides protection and control as well as an overview and information. The PST range covers applications from 30A up to 1800A. Features include ten standard languages for complete international compatibility, advanced warning parameters, supervisory functions and capability to operate "inside delta". ABB
Troubleshooting and calibration procedures are critical to maintaining high precision in Bio-Pharm and other HVAC airflow systems. The Ashcroft® DXLdp low-pressure transmitter with the exclusive SpoolCal™ process valve actuator can be easily validated and calibrated in-place without disturbing process tubes or wiring. With a simple twist of the wrist to the left, the SpoolCal™ tees the process pressure out to a handheld calibrator. A twist to the right puts you in the calibration mode. The front access test jacks provide on-line ref erence signal without removing wiring, avoiding signal interruption. Dresser Instruments
The Low Pressure M series vacuum pumps have been designed to handle low or fluctuating compressed air pressures. These vacuum pumps, at an inlet pressure of only 50-psi, provide up to 27-inHg of vacuum. The pumps are quiet, small, efficient, easily installed and virtually maintenance-free. They are suitable for applications requiring high flow rate at moderate vacuum levels and can be used in packaging systems, for laboratory use, for materials handling and in vacuum systems for other industrial automation applications. Tennant's new 6650 and 6600 Power Sweepers are easy to use both indoors or out and offer features for high performance, operator comfort, maneuverability, dust control and efficiency. The 6600's control panel is easy to operate. Power steering enhances maneuverability and operation. Dual dust side skirts tightly seal the main brush door compartment to prevent dust and debris from escaping. The 6650 offers an optional SB2 auxiliary sidebrush that cleans areas not accessible to regular sweepers, including up on the curb. It also has an optional 4-inch diameter vacuum wand to pick up trash from remote locations while sweeping. A new control panel simplifies operator training and helps eliminate operator sweeping errors. One button replaces five levers and two switches. This button opens the hopper door, activates and lowers the main and side brushes, activates the vacuum fan and increases the engine speed to normal operating speed. Tennant Company
National Instruments has expanded the functionality of its controller area network (CAN) product line to provide access to more than 50 I/O modules and simplifies its configuration with the release of the new FP-1300 FieldPoint CAN interface modules and the NI-CAN 2.0 driver software. With the FP-1300 CAN interface module, engineers can now expand the capabilities of CAN-based measurement systems to include reliable distributed input/output (I/O). FieldPoint provides high accuracy, isolated analog and digital I/O modules, adding direct CAN connectivity to virtually any sensor or actuator. Users can easily add CAN nodes, containing up to nine I/O modules (144 points) each, to existing CAN networks. The module is fully configurable with NI-CAN 2.0 software so engineers can specify arbitration ID and customize I/O data configuration. National Instruments PLASTIC FASTENER with universal tie strap Developed for a wide range of panel thickness and hole sizes, the universal tie strap fastener fits a wide range of hole diameters ranging from 6.2mm to 7.2mm and a sheet metal thickness of 0.6mm to 2.95mm. A full umbrella design resists water and noise leakage and the attachment tie feature can be adapted to a number of applications such as fuel line clips, brake line clips, insulation clips and other W-based products. The universal tie strap fastener no longer requires customers to tape the harness to the fastener in wire harness applications. Emhart® Technologies
These high precision AG slides are designed for applications requiring high accuracy, repeatability and long-lasting linear motion performance. The Ironman ball and roller slides combine optimal rigidity and friction-free travel and employ a 'wedge' pre-load system to customize preload for a particular application in seconds. The Wedge is an internal tapered steel block that can be adjusted with a single set screw, applying uniform loading across the entire slide in a single step. The Wedge allows for customization of applications requiring tighter preloads and extends the life and serviceability of Ironman slides. EasySlider™ ball and roller slides are lightweight and corrosion-resistant ball slides that offer low coefficient of sliding friction and precision linear travel. Optical Gaging Products Inc.
Magnetic sweepers are availa ble in push-type, hang-type and trailer-type with sweeping widths from 12" to 96". They allow the user to snap up hazardous metal objects from work and traffic areas found in industrial manufacturing, metalworking plants and anywhere nails and scrap metal can pose a hazard to people and property. Powerful ceramic magnets are encased in a durable aluminum housing which can be cleared of collected debris with working gloves or heavy shop towel. The push-type magnetic sweepers feature an easy load release lever. These sweepers can easily be cleared of collected debris by simply pulling back on the release handle. Master Magnetics, Inc.
EnCapta™ software fills the gaps in current digital product definitions by delivering more design information to the engineer when and where he needs it. The software captures in a structured format all the non-geometric design details such as specifications, notes and cost information and associates them with relevant geometric features. It captures the relationship between geometric and non-geometric information, not only at the part or assembly level, but at the feature level. EnCapta™ integrates CAD and engineering applications using powerful XML technology. It is tightly integrated into the CAD system, making it easily accessible and available on the engineer's desktop from the very first stage of design. Vistagy. Inc.
Intech Power-Core gears feature a proprietary casting technology that permanently bonds a self-lubricating, high performance plastic body and an integral metal hub. The quiet-running, long-wearing, self-lubricating composite gear material is preferred for use in demanding gear applications and hostile operating environments. The sturdy metal-to-metal hub/shaft connection performs over a wide range of temperatures and corrosive environments. A variety of metal cores are available including steel, aluminum and stainless steel to match operating requirements in sanitary, clean room, harsh, remote or difficult-to-reach applications. Intech Corporation
Fork Kushions™ offer a resilient yet durable solution to product damage by equipping a lift truck with specially engineered polyurethane bumpers that are mounted to the upright of the fork. They provide cushioning protection from marring, denting and other forms of damage. Adaptable for all sizes of lift truck forks, Kastalon solid and Kast-A-Lite® polyurethane Fork-Kushions™ are mounted directly to the face of the fork utilizing a specially designed permanent mounting bracket. This bracket is equipped with a high performance quick adhesion system providing easy installation and maximum bond strength. They will not move or shift and will withstand constant use and force. Kastalon, Inc. REAL-TIME PRESSURE MAPPING SYSTEM is pre-calibrated Tactilus® is an electronic tactile force and pressure indicating sensor which allows an engineer to monitor precisely how force is disbursed between any two contacting or mating surfaces in real-time while the event occurs. Any application or test where pressure lies between 0.007 kg/cm2 to 632.7 kg/cm2 is a viable candidate for the technology. The system is a valuable aid in machine calibration unit pressure distribution between components of machine assemblies such as measuring package drop test pressure as well as the interface pressure in mechanically attached joints, gaskets and flanges, clutch and brake plates, frames, shafts, welding heads, teeth of gears, glue and adhesive jigs and roller nips for steel mills.
