Extech's new high temperature InfraRed (IR) thermometer, model 42540, measures from 50 to 760°C with 0.1° resolution. A built-in laser pointer identifies the area to be measured. The 12:1 distance to target ratio allows the thermometer to measure smaller surface areas at a greater distance. The large LCD is backlit so that readings can be taken at night or in areas with low light levels. Automatic Data Hold freezes the display and there are audible and visible overrange indicators. The Laser Microgage 2000 can be used by
