AUTOMATIC PICK, PLACE AND PRESS MACHINE The AP3 automatic pick, place and press machine is a fully automated in-line pick, place and press system. The XSystem is a
PLC, I/O, HMI and software all in one. The use of a "sandwich construction" means that the controller can be flexibly scaled. All the modules lend themselves to be combined according to the application requirements at hand, without any interfacing problems. The benefit of the XSystem is to reduce the number of such interfaces wherever possible to maximize cost savings.
The NI PXI-7350 high-density motion control module now features data acquisition capabilities. This eight-axis PXI motion control module gives engineers the flexibility of control for eight axes of motion in a single slot of a 3U PXI chassis. Using the PXI-7350, an 18-slot PXI chassis could potentially contain up to 144 axes of motion. NI LabVIEW and Motion Assistant configurable software also simplify the integration of motion control with NI data acquisition
(DAQ) and machine vision hardware to help engineers create seamless measurement and control applications. Through the integrated data acquisition capabilities of the PXI-7350, engineers can incorporate analog I/O into their motion control applications to take a variety of measurements, from potentiometers for position data, to thermistors for temperature measurements. This new motion control module includes eight accurate 16-bit analog inputs for accurate, single-point data acquisition and 64-bit digital I/O for controlling solid-state relays or reading digital
encoders.
The model 1310 indicator/controller is a flexible weighing and process control solution designed to integrate seamlessly into all major industrial networks. With the model 1310 online, users are able to control and monitor any weight-based process, display
chosen critical aspects of the operational status in graphics or text, and isolate potential problems in downstream devices such as scales, sensors and control devices. The model 1310 meshes perfectly with industry-specific standards and operational requirements, supporting all major fieldbus protocols including DeviceNet™, ProfiBus®, ControlNet™,
InterBus, ModBus Plus plus non-proprietary protocols through a 10/100 Ethernet network such as ModBus TCP, TCP/IP, HTTP,
SMTP, FTP and Ethernet/IP.
The Jackrabbit™ is a high-performance, single-board computer stocked with I/O, memory and communications ports. Engineered panel solutions are available across
Danfoss' complete family of drive products and power sizes. They provide a complete control solution in nearly any industrial application that utilizes adjustable frequency drives for machine and process control. Panels are available in pre-engineered configurations, or can be customized to meet specific application requirements. Pre-engineered panels feature fused/disconnect panel and bypass panel configurations, 2 and 3 contactor bypasses and common start/stop functionality. Additional features include: Undervoltage relay; Dual motor selection; various Fuse and disconnect options; various Enclosure sizes and environmental ratings; Control switches; Indicator lights; Input/output filters and Meters.
Rittal's new Industrial Workstations bring the "desk into the factory". The supporting floor enclosure provides storage space for production folders, writing utensils, tools and other appropriate equipment while the conventional controls such as keyboard, mouse and monitor are mounted on a work surface. The basis of the unit is a modular under-table housing 600 square, 900 or 1000mm in height with the sidewalls secured internally. The internal frame is compatible with Rittal's TS8 range of accessories and the front can be constructed with special steel door, glazed door or drawer units. A 38mm thick work surface provides a good solid work area for the assembly of a motor housing of the customer's choice.
PIAB's Modular Automation Tooling
(PMAT) allows you to construct vacuum end effector tools to meet your exact needs with minimal design time. The tooling system, which is made of mostly hard-coat anodized aluminum, is lightweight and easy to assemble on-site without welding or use of special tools. The system can be used to construct end effector tools for use on any automation equipment needs you may have. The tooling consists of a swivel arm assembly with a choice of various functional attachments that includes a vacuum pump. The air-driven vacuum pump provides both vacuum pressure through COAX™ technology and a connection for blow-off pressure and can be equipped with a check valve feature called VacTrap®.
Manufacturers of robots and factory automation hardware can now integrate customized, heavy-duty electrical interconnects into their product designs. HTS connectors consist of a metal-shell pin and socket connector suitable for a variety of industrial applications. In addition to the outer shell, the connector consists of a mated pair of contact inserts and contacts. Designers can select from several shell styles including surface mount, panel mount and in-line. The contact inserts determine the number of contacts for a given connector size. Typically, from three to over two hundred contacts are possible. Connectors can include customized external shells, contact inserts and external hardware.
Motoman's pre-engineered MotoSweep solutions are suitable for robotic applications requiring extended reach, including: machine loading, material handling, welding,
deburring, trimming, deflashing and load/unload of injection mould machines. MotoSweep features the Motoman UP20 robot with a 20-kg payload. The robot can be C-frame or pedestal-mounted from the beam arm. Three different beam configurations are available: servo, manual and fixed. The seventh-axis servo motor controls the sweep of the moveable beam in the servo configuration. For the manual configurations, operators move the beam by hand and locate it using pins. The fixed beam configuration does not sweep. MotoSweep features a 7-axis design with a 6.7 rpm beam velocity and 0.1mm total repeatability of both the servo gallows and robot.
Designed for one-handed operation, the
JETT*ce features a Microsoft® Windows® CE .NET operating system, an Intel® Xscale™ technology processor, sunlight
readable display with optional touch screen technology and a variety of interface capabilities. The standard 192x128 pixel monochrome LCD display is also available as an optional touch screen, giving the user the ability to create GUI based applications for unlimited possibilities in user control. The standard display is sunlight readable with the option of LED backlight for easy viewing in high or low light conditions. The JETT*ce meets the complex and varied requirements of a wide range of applications where a rugged hand held computer is needed, such as warehousing, transportation, field service, meter reading, time and attendance, emergency vehicles, machine control and inventory control.
Dress packs -- or umbilicals -- provide all power, data and media needed to make a robot work. The umbilical is an extremely flexible and protective polyurethane
(PUR) jacket which contains all components to supply a welding or handling robot with water, air, vacuum, electricity and communications. Each dress pack includes boots, which are mounted on the robot with patented bracket modules. The entire system -- posts, brackets, boots and umbilical -- is designed to absorb kinetic energy generated by the rugged robot and welding operations. In LEONI's yellow dress packs, all components are extruded into the umbilical shell to form a linear spring system that absorbs and distributes the stresses and loads throughout the entire module -- not through a single component.
The ROBOformER® is a robotic cell with advanced, intuitive software designed to orchestrate the movements of robotic loading, intricate bending actions and unloading -- all accomplished with one controller and one program. The easy-to-use proprietary software provides instant, real-time management of the robot simply and immediately. With one cell, one controller and one programmer, the ROBOformER can be used for any sheet metal bending application, taking production from drawing to finished product in minutes, without stopping the machine and without any robot teach-in.
Motoman's pre-engineered MotoRail solutions are ideal for robotic applications requiring extended reach and high throughput, including machine loading, material handling, welding,
deburring, trimming, deflashing, load/unload of injection mould machines and dispensing. MotoRail is available in either 50-kg or 20-kg payload versions. It features a 7-axis design with a linear traverse speed of 2.5 meters per second and 0.1mm total repeatability of both the track and robot. The servo rail is available in several linear travel
lengths from 3-21 meters. MotoRail is available in a dual-robot configuration that provides increased throughput.
EPSI provides technologically advanced PLC control upgrades that can be integrated with existing isostatic presses regardless of the original manufacturer. After installation, EPSI's technicians and engineers confirm proper press operations to ensure all safety requirements are met. The controls are menu driven with fully automatic cycles. Recipes are entered into the supervisory computer and downloaded into the
PLC. The flexibility of EPSI's controls allows operators to make minor adjustments for cycles. Only supervisors or qualified personnel are given security clearance to the recipes and programs that allow major cycle parameter changes. With a control upgrade, many cycle definitions may be entered into the control's memory. This ensures that cycles are duplicated consistently.
The ATS1000 is a compact, high-performance stage that is as accurate as it is versatile. It provides a small cross-section, medium payload capacity and an environmentally protected solution for precision applications. A rigid base and high-performance brushless servo motor make the ATS1000 versatile in industrial applications such as laser machining, or in any other application requiring high accuracy in a production environment. All the stages include Aerotech's BMS series
brushless, slothless servomotor.
The VersaView CE™ industrial computer combines the Microsoft Windows® CE platform with rugged computer hardware designed specifically for industrial applications. It is a dependable, open platform computing solution ideal for human machine interface
(HMI), customized applications, information management, and remote terminal applications in situations where users need the flexibility to customize or use third-party software programs but don't necessarily want the full functionality of an industrial computer.
AutomationDirect now offers the
GS-EDRV, an Ethernet interface card for their GS2 line of AC drives that provides a high-performance Ethernet link between a drive and a control system with MODBUS TCP/IP capability. The card mounts on DIN rail and connects a drive to an Ethernet hub or PC. The
GS-EDRV processes input signals from the drive, formats the signals to conform to the Ethernet standard and transmits the signals to the controller. It also receives and translates the output signals from the controller and distributes the signals to the drive.
The Sigma family of tool changers for heavy-duty material handling and welding robots support the global manufacturing trend towards standard specifications for worldwide factory production equipment. One of its features is the interchangeability of interface modules comprised of all the standard electrical connectors and utility packages typically used in manufacturing environments throughout the world.
