The ServoSheeter offers optional easier controls and a new optional fixed-gap shear for cutting through denser materials. It provides high-speed operation and close tolerance performance similar to a rotary
sheeter. The unit's down-acting scissor shear cuts clean in short and long increments. The new optional fixed-gap shear allows clean cuts through dense materials. It also has a brushless servo motor for minimal maintenance and heavy duty components for long-life performance. The equipment can also be automation engineered to communicate with other equipment in a facility.
The AMS air turbine type spindle utilizes an air bearing which contributes to a longer service life due to lack of friction, wear and heat generation. The spindle and the bearing are finished with an extremely high-accuracy precision process, virtually eliminating vibration and providing high rotating accuracy. NSK offers the AMS-400, the AMS-800 and the
AMS-1600 with speeds of 57,000 rpm, 80,000 rpm and 160,000 rpm respectively.

Seco-Carboloy has expanded its line of PCBN grades and inserts for high-precision hard turning and milling applications in both
PCBN-tipped and PVD-coated solid PCBN styles. The new PVD-coated solid PCBN inserts can be used for the machining of pearlitic gray cast iron, roughing and finishing of hardened steels and irons. Benefits of the new coating include enhanced wear detection, no detrimental effect on the surface and improved tool life performance in certain applications. The entire line of new PCBN tools maximize metal removal at high speeds while maintaining tolerance and surface finish requirements.

Xtra-Thick is a super heavy-duty cutting fluid designed specifically for the most arduous cutting operations of extreme pressure and long duration on the hardest metal such as stainless steel and titanium. The product features an extended cling time, so a single application stays with the tool and work piece for cuts of long duration. Its clinging action makes it suitable for reaming, lathe and mill work since it stays on the work piece and tool during high speed rotation.
The Spoolmatic 15A is a 15 ft. cable outfitted spool gun which features an improved nozzle assembly that balances the gun evenly in the operator's hand. It is capable of wire feed speeds between 70 and 875 inches per minute, pushes wire .023 in. -- 1 1/16 in. in diameter and holds a 4-9n. spool.
The model XLR-22 automated, compact, round-bowl finishing machine features a long-radius channel that is 22 feet in length and 8 1/2 inches wide. The channel provides constant media mass depth and media action to assure desired results according to the user's specific requirements. The long-radius technology allows parts to remain submerged in the media for a longer period, which means less likelihood that an individual part needs to be sent through the system a second time. The new technology is especially desirable in work-cell applications where equipment reliability and close coordination of all operations are important. Parts are automatically separated from the finishing media following once-around-and-out processing or batch cycling when longer
deburring is required.
The
Toggle-Aire® model 2530 10 ton pneumatic press is powered by a 3 7/8" diameter tandem cylinder coupled to a lever/toggle linkage that produces 10 tons of force with a power-to-air consumption ratio of 0.64 cu. ft. per stroke. Featuring ±.001" accuracy and repeatability, this single stroke bench top press has only seven moving parts, a simple one-shot lubrication system, a compact 10" x 18" footprint and operates on 80-100 psi air. Suited for stamping, blanking, punching, die cutting, forming, staking, riveting, coining, embossing, cold forming, heat sealing and similar applications, the press comes in single stroke and automated configurations.
KaBloc brackets for Wedgmount® precision levelers are used for permanently bolting them to the floor after installation to prevent slippage or correct the twisting and bending of long-bed machines. The precision levelers are fully adjustable to compensate for uneven floors and can be equipped with base pads that provide the optimum combination of stiffness and stability, while the KaBloc brackets are offered in three mounting configurations. Easy to install, the brackets can be fixed with M-20 bolts and chemical anchors and are available in capacities from 25,000 to 50,000 lbs.
The ePIG™ system, based on the TMS LanSharc™ hardware platform, is a universal, easy-to-use process quality monitor, which uses statistical vibration analysis to alert machine operators of a change in a single spindle machine's operating condition. The system runs constant diagnostics during cutting, milling, drilling and boring operations without interrupting the flow of production and can help detect problems in parts that might otherwise go to customers unchecked. Using a simple, non-intrusive vibration sensor, the ePIG "black box" excels on single spindle transfer line machines to analyze both the cutting energy during a machining cycle and also the ambient rotating energy while the machine idles. A process alarm signals when anything significantly out of the ordinary is found that can indicate part quality problems, such as broken inserts, missing operations or hardened parts.
Two styles of machine vises are available: a twin station design with either 4" or 6" jaw widths and a
"MonoQuad" design featuring eight stations with either 4" or 6" jaw widths. The twin station models have fully machinable soft jaws, a full 6" jaw travel and hardened and ground steel
guideways. The vises have an unusually broad selection of mounting options, including gooseneck adjustable strap clamps or employing the Jergens Jigsaw™ interlocking plate fixturing system which optimizes the productivity of machining centers by maximizing the number of vises (and work pieces) on a production run. The MonoQuad vises are also provided with fully machinable soft jaws, as well as hardened and ground
steel guideways for long life.
Seco has introduced a new holding system for drilling that covers a wide range of needs including solid carbide drills, brazed drills and Seco's CrownLoc system. The range of holders feature coolant inducers for both manual and automatic tool change for a total of six different coolant inducers with two different maximum recommend revolutions (4,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm). The maximum pressure level is 290
psi. In addition, new adjustable insert drill holders are available with an accuracy of 0.05± mm. These holders come with or without coolant inducers. The new holding system for all styles is modular in design and features a Graflex® back end.
The CIMSTAR® 3800 family of metalworking fluids is designed for moderate to heavy-duty machining and grinding applications. It was developed to meet the tough challenges of aluminum machining and grinding in the automotive industry. However, the new family works equally well with titanium, exotic alloys and both ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The 3800 series combines superior lubricity,
biostability, low misting and low foaming. It provides outstanding cleanliness and bimetallic corrosion control for parts, individual machines and central plant systems.
The RIDGID® model 122XL copper cutting and prep machine is a versatile unit designed to cut and prepare copper tubing. It allows the user to cut, clean and debur 1/2" to 4" tubing and ream 1/2" to 2" tubing quickly. An optional, quick-change fitting brush system and storage rack allows the preparation of 1/2" to 4" copper fittings for soldering. The machine features a rugged
O.D. cleaning brush and deburring disk to clean and debur the outside diameter of the tubing; a heavy-duty cutter wheel that has been tested to over 10,000 cuts on type "K" copper; and a cone reamer designed to remove turbulence-causing burrs on the inside of the tubing.
The Lexair
Mini-RHINOBAR® single-tube hydrodynamic bar feeder is designed for shops where flexibility and customization are required. The system, designed for high-speed, small stock applications with quick feed tube changeover, is engineered for Swiss type CNC screw machines and small, fixed head CNC lathes. Feed tube sizes range from 1/8" to 1-5/8" in increments of 1/8", and accommodate stock ranging from 1/16" to 1 5/8" in diameter, or in 6' or 12' bar lengths. Feed tubes can be purchased a la cart, allowing for incremental expansion that meets each customer's
individual needs.
The CNC high performance trunnion
(HPT) and heavy-duty trunnion (HDT) feature a unique sliding head design that allows most cutting tools to be conveniently changed outside the machine base. This feature allows most tool changes to be performed in less than a minute, reducing machine downtime. The sliding spindle carriers are retracted through the machine control, and come standard with
quick-change tooling adaptors. Interchangeable part chucks allow rapid changeover between different part numbers.
The new Speedglas® with Adflo® powered air-purifying respirator creates a positive atmosphere of filtered air within the helmet. The respirator's design features a "stackable" filter configuration: the system is always used with a high efficiency particle filter; the HE filter can be "stacked" onto an optional Adflo cartridge filter for additional protection against organic, sulfur dioxide, chlorine and hydrogen chloride fume vapors. In effect, it's two systems in one, allowing increased user flexibility to adapt to changing welding applications.
Luminator™ focus heads are designed for use in fiber-delivered industrial welding applications. Based on a one-piece machined body, these rugged welding heads are sealed to industrial standard IP55 for work in the most demanding conditions. The heads are available in straight and right-angle form with a CCTV option for the right-angle version. The design carries the focus lens in a separate module for ease of changeover without the need to handle individual optics, thus reducing service times. These lens modules are available with a range of focus lengths to give spots sizes to suit the specific application.
Strippit/LVD introduces the CADMAN® Express CNC control for its PPEB-4 series of precision hydraulic press brakes. It is a Windows® NT based system and is able to control up to four digital axes. CADMAN Express features an Intel Pentium microprocessor, 20 GB hard disk drive, CD ROM and 12" TFT screen. The control provides an operator-friendly user interface for all levels of programming experience. It simplifies the programming process by requiring a
limited output of data, allowing programming to be quickly and easily accomplished at the machine.
The Doosan model Z290SMY twin spindle, twin turret, live tool, CNC horizontal lathe with Y-axis is offered with twin Sauter VDI 30 turrets with 12 tool positions, including 6 positions for live tooling with servo drive index. A Y axis is provided for the upper turret. Its specifications include: 11.42" maximum turning diameter, 22.83" length, 30.12" spindle nose distance.
