To enhance the performance of Amacoil/Uhing linear drive assemblies, an optional line of linear slide load carriers has been introduced. The slides remove twisting and bending forces from the drive unit and from the guide rails and supports. This minimizes the chance of damage to the drive system which could result from forces created by excessively heavy or off-center loads. Additionally, by lifting the payload weight off the drive unit, the linear slide attachment assures that the bearing assembly is not under undue pressure. Maximum backlash offered in the BDB is 5, 3, or 1 arc.min. The
AUTO-GLIDE system allows Energy Chain cable carriers to glide on themselves
throughout the long travels without glide troughs. The new advanced AUTO-GLIDE
System for the E4 modular line of Energy Chains, allows travels up to 100 meters
without a guide trough. The E4 AUTO-GLIDE incorporates a "groove"
design along the inner radius of the carrier. These grooves interlock to create
integrated channels for the carrier to glide along. This system eliminates the
need for a guide trough, saving installation time, material costs and overall
space needed for the application equipment, while maintaining strength,
rigidity and performance.
Stafford's
Solution Series Micro-Adjustable Positioning Collars are an assembly
consisting of two knurled collars which clamp directly to a shaft and
feature a male-female connecting hub that provides a 1/2" adjustment
range. Designed for accurate fine-tune positioning, the collars connect
using 40 pitch threads that operate smoothly and each travels 0.025"
per turn. Available in nine standard sizes from 1/4" to 1 1/2"
I.D., machined from steel or stainless steel, the collars permit
micrometer-like adjustability in both directions. Since the entire
assembly consists of two one-piece collars which clamp directly to a shaft
and screw into each other, it provides superior axial holding power.

The
Unidrive SP is available in three frame sizes to 40H", operating at 230V,
460V or 575V AC. It features five operating modes: V/f, open and closed loop
vector, servo and regeneration and supports 14 different feedback signal devices
as standard, including absolute encoders. Three zero-space option slots accept
Solutions Modules (SM) to tailor the drive to specific application and control
needs. SM's provide scalable PLC functionality beyond what is available in the
base drive with the addition of application modules. SM's are easily programmed
and can accept pre-programmed "Solutions", such as CT's dual-mode
winder program. SM's are available to add extended I/O, resolver feedback, a
second Universal Feedback device and fieldbus support. The Unidrive SP also
supports multiple fieldbus options simultaneously, such as DeviceNet, Profibus
and CANOpen.

Bearings is offering a series of thin section ball bearings, which are
engineered for applications requiring less weight, less geometric space and
higher stiffness than conventional bearings. As such, the thin section ball
bearings are suitable for the heavy-duty applications involved in the general
industrial and machine tool industries, such as in tool turrets, robots,
material handling and custom industrial equipment. The standard thin section
bore sizes range from 1" to 40" and in 7 cross sections from
3/16" to 1". The new bearings are also available in metric sizes and
in radial, angular and 4-point contact designs. Customers may specify a variety
of seals, separators and different materials such as SAE 52100 steel, 440C
stainless steel and 17-4 stainless steel.

Peel rotating shaft guards are now available for a wide range of rotating
coupling and shaft requirements. Applications include pumps, fans, gear
drives and plant machinery. Available in 4 types and 8 sizes, the guards
can accommodate close-coupled, spacer, fluid and line shaft couplings, in
diameters to 1016mm. The guards are supplied in polyethylene or metal with
all stainless steel hardware. Spacer coupling guards are available with
non-sparking aluminum construction. The rotating shaft guards come in a
safety orange color with affixed warning labels and fully enclose the
rotating members, allowing gaps no greater than 6mm.
ZF-Servoplan
PG gearboxes offer very low backlash for demanding applications where
exact positioning is critical. The PG features a robust output shaft
shoulder and large-dimensional taper roller bearings in their patented CC
arrangement, allowing the highest possible axial and radial loads. The
Servoplan PGE gearboxes were designed for less demanding applications
where overall value is the primary concern. With its compact design and
high power density, the PGE features a wide variety of available sizes
(5-670 Nm) and ratios (3-1000) to satisfy almost any application.
GEARHEAD
A
backlash-free design eliminates the need for additional drive system
preload in Amacoil/Uhing linear drive units. Special machining and
compression of the bearing assembly prevent backlash and make it
unnecessary to design-in, or purchase, extra anti-backlash solutions such
as preloaded nuts, shims or double enveloping gears. The inner race of
each bearing in the drive unit features a special contour which creates a
point of continuous contact with the drive shaft, regardless of shaft
rotational direction or speed. There is never any "play" between
shaft and bearing. Rotary motion input from the shaft is therefore
immediately converted into linear output with no backlash -- including
during reversal of the drive head.

LUBRICANTS
The
LPB integrated geared pulley drive system was designed to be integrated
with linear module applications but can be used in many other industrial
applications as well. The gearbox has a flange output, allowing the
gearbox to be nested inside the pulley, eliminating the need for a right
angle gearbox, couplings and/or additional bearings. The LPB is available
in sizes 70-120mm, with ratios of 1:1, 3:1, 5:1 and 10:1. Its design
increases the radial load capacity associated with belt and pulley
applications, increasing output bearing life. The design also reduces
package size and installation space requirements.
