The new Partlow family of industrial controllers, which feature setpoints that can be selected from a remote location, can be customized for various applications using optional plug-in modules for outputs, inputs, alarms and communications. Other features include auto-detection of hardware modules and a simple keypad for fast, easy setup and program changes. The '+' (Plus) series controllers include 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 DIN-size models.

Carlo Gavazzi (Canada) Inc.

ABB offers an extensive line of inductive, capacitive, photoelectric and ultrasonic sensors. The Inductive Proximity Sensors offer sensing ranges of 0.8 to 50mm and are available with 2 or 3 wire AC or DC output versions. The Capacitive Proximity Sensors offer sensing ranges of 0 to 10mm on non-ferrous materials and are also available with PNP-NPN outputs. The Photoelectric Sensors are available for diffused sensing to 800mm or can sense retro-reflective to 5m or up to 20m for thru-beam sensing. The ultrasonic sensors provide diffused sensing up to 6000mm.

ABB

The LTM-100 is a compact non-contact temperature sensor which measures temperature in one second and monitors the temperature by holding the measurement button down. This infrared sensor is suitable for applications where contact may cause contamination, the operator may be at risk due to high temperature, or when an object is in motion. The structure is waterproof and dustproof (IP67) to allow washing with water or antibacterial resin. The lightweight unit is easy to use and has useful functions such as C/F switchable, auto-power off and adjustable emissivity.

The PresencePlus® P4 GEO vision sensor easily inspects for correct features regardless of product orientation or position in the sensors' field of view. A remote TEACH feature allows the sensor to learn new features it will need to inspect for -- without connecting to a PC or shutting down the line. New inspections are learned real time while production is running. The built-in live video image output allows users to view the sensor's inspections in real time and to also view failed inspection images without the use of a PC. The P4 GEO vision sensor can interface to machines and factory networks via its built-in 10/100 Ethernet connection, RS-232 or discrete input/outputs.

The SAE J1939 Controller/Gateway uses the standardized application layer protocols CANopen and SAE J1939 to control the functions of special purpose applications on a vehicle and to enable the exchange of data between the applications and the vehicle's powertrain. As a controller, the unit controls special purpose applications such as moving/lifting mechanisms, remote hydraulics, timing/sequence control, load sensing/limiting, monitoring analog inputs and proportional control of outputs. Operating as a gateway, information is exchanged between a CAN-based system used in the application and the vehicle's powertrain controls including the engine and transmission.

ifm efector inc.

Balluff offers a 3mm inductive sensor/connector combination in both shielded and unshielded versions. Instead of a standard connector, these new inductive sensors use an integral flush fitting, making each package a total of 3mm wide for the entire length. The unshielded version has a 3mm sensing distance and the shielded version 1mm. The inductive sensors are suitable for a variety of applications, including embedded installations, such as in stamping dies and other tight, difficult-to-install situations. The small size also facilitates multiple sensor installations where sensors must be positioned as close as 6mm to each other.

Balluff Inc.

The series SFI-801 Sight Flow Indicator is a durable rotor style flow indicator with optional output sensor. Its clear polycarbonate body enables 360° viewing of the bright red PBT rotor. The series has pressure rating of 125 psi (8.62 bar), temperature rating 130°F (55°C) and chemical compatibility. The optional A-711 output sensor has a VDC output with pulsing for flow totalization and a proportional frequency of change for flow rate. The units are constructed of all ultraviolet stabilized materials for outdoor service and there are no magnets in the rotor to attract ferrous materials. The sight flow indicator is  compact, panel mountable and the A-711 output sensor package can be ordered factory assembled or can easily be installed on an existing unit in the field.

The DVF-320 depth velocity flow transmitter system uses a 4-20 mA signal to provide long-term monitoring and transmission of flow rate and includes four programmable outputs to provide liquid level, velocity and flow metering. It features a sealed design and isolated outputs that significantly reduce site visits. The unit also comes with a tough IP65 housing with a hinged sealing cover to protect the LCD display. Providing an upgrade to its Temposonics® line of magnetostrictive position sensors, MTS announces that its new G-series is backward compatible with existing L-Series and Tempo II series sensors. This enhanced line offers new features that will directly benefit existing customers in the wood, metals, plastics and rubber production industries, as well as the structural test and motion simulation market. MTS Temposonics

The new Miniature Bearing Sensors line offers sensor operating temperatures to +120°C with cabling rated to +260°C continuous, allowing the cable to cross hot spots in the environment. The sensor elements meet standard tolerance specifications for Class B elements per IEC 751-1995 and DIN 43760:1980. The sensors are designed to monitor temperature of embedded bearings critical to machine performance in industrial rotating equipment. Typical applications for bearing sensors include motors, turbines, pumps, gear boxes and other journal bearing pedestals.

Trillium Controls Inc.

The series 04 is a complete choice of sealed, illuminated switches, which combine style, utility and industrial durability. The series 04 range has an extensive choice of possible combinations, including square and round indicators and pushbuttons, rotary switches, emergency stops and mushroom-headed pushbuttons. A compact, round indicator is also available for limited space applications. This versatile latching switch relay (LSR) can be used for latching or reclosing and can also serve as a programming relay for a local or remote SCADA-compatible switch. Designed for use in the electric power industry, it can open, close, and maintain up to 20 contacts (N/O and N/C). The unit's blade-and-terminal design allows for multiple decks and contacts, so it can be configured for a variety of specific applications. A maximum of ten decks can be stacked, providing control of up to 40 independent contacts (2 N/O and 2 N/C contacts per deck) in a single device.

The model AST 4600 Explosionproof pressure sensor is designed for use in hydrogen service and other hazardous applications such as refineries, water treatment plants, natural gas compressors and power generation.
