FULL FLOW AIR KNIFE EXAIR's new Full-Flow Air Knife is an effective way to cool, dry or clean parts, webs and conveyors. It produces a high volume, high velocity laminar airstream that flows across the entire length of the air knife. The unit ejects a small amount of compressed air through a .002" thick slotted nozzle. Using the Coanda Effect, the air attaches to the surface and turns 90 degrees to flow down the front face. This primary airstream pulls in surrounding air for an amplification of 30:1 at 15 cm away. Operation is safe since the airflow cannot be dead ended. Sound level is quiet at 80 dBA when operating at full line pressure of 80 psig. There are no moving parts to wear out. The Full-Flow Air Knife is available from stock in many lengths from 8 to 91 cm in aluminum and stainless steel. Additional shims are available that permit an increase in force and flow. ULTRASONIC SENSORS The UA series ultrasonic sensors have been designed for both distance measurement and object detection in tough environments. The range consists of both M18 and M30 housings. Discrete output types are available for presence and absence detection, and are suited for detecting objects that cannot be detected by other sensors, such as transparent objects. Analog output types are available for applications requiring a measurement of the target object, such as detecting the level of fluid in a tank. The analog models have a choice of 0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA outputs. More advanced models incorporate teach functions, which allow the set-points to be configured with the push of a button, and Windows-based software for application where greater control of sensor parameters and variables need to be controlled. LIQUID LEVEL CONTROL The LLC8 series is a single probe liquid level control designed for low liquid level cutoff protection. Low level cutoff protection is normally used in equipment and commercial appliances that produce hot water or steam, like boilers or steamers. Low level cutoff protection helps prevent thermal runaway and excessively high internal pressure in the hot water tank by disconnecting the heating element if the water level is too low. A probe is installed in the hot water tank. As long as the water is in contact with this probe the heating element can operate. ROUND RAIL ROLLER SYSTEM Strothmann has introduced a patented floor track system, called Round Rail™ that facilitates the movement of heavy industrial equipment and materials from place to place within a factory environment. The round rail system -- typically inset and cast nearly flush to the shop floor -- enables machines or material weighing many tons to be moved quietly, with minimum effort; a 10-load can be easily pushed about by a single person. The very low roller resistance provided by the system is the result of the roller's unique profile -- it is shaped like a Gothic arch. The roller mates with the round rail track, resulting in very low friction. The rollers are made from ball bearing steel. The rail is made from hardened and polished steel (64 HRc). ONE COMPONENT ADHESIVE/SEALANT The EP17 one component heat curing epoxy adhesive/sealant has a service operating range from -- 300°F to as high as 600°F. It bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, glass, ceramics, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics. EP17 has excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals including fuels, acids, bases, oils and many solvents. It possesses high physical strength properties and is readily machinable and has superior dimensional stability and very low shrinkage upon cure. SCARA ROBOT The model TMB 100 SCARA robot is suitable for rotary work cell or conveyor operation. The system has an actual working area of 400mm x 380mm either left- or right-handed. Programming features include high level, easily understood step-by-step instructions and the software is available in a dispensing format for fluid dispensing applications or as general purpose for pick-and-place operations. The robot's system is controlled by a closed-loop encoder and has several input-output functions for communication to other systems. POCKET IR THERMOMETER The model IR201 infrared thermometer is small and lightweight so that it is easily carried around in a pocket and always handy for a quick temperature check. It has a laser pointer to help target the area to be measured. It measures a wide range of surface temperatures from 50 to 270°C with 1° resolution. It is suitable for checking "hot spots" in electrical panels, production machinery, auto radiators, HVAC equipment and grills, but the lower ranges allow it to be used for monitoring chillers, freezers, cold rooms and igloos. SAFETY SWITCH The non-contact, magnetic safety switch PSEN 1.1, used in conjunction with Pilz electromechanical evaluation devices, represents a new complete solution.
