pcs 2004/530 SPECIALIZED FILTERS
for process sample filtration

Several new fast loop Balston® sample filters which offer the benefit of real time sampling with high efficiency filtration are now available. The unique pattern flow continuously flushes the filter cartridge carrying the contaminates back out to the process stream, thus maximizing the filter cartridge life. Axial velocity flushes the bulk contaminants through the filter housing back to the process stream. The sample stream passes through the filter cartridge wall with low flow and radial velocity. The clean side of the sample filter system has very low volume which minimizes the lag time. Filter cartridges are offered in a wide range of efficiencies from 100 micron to 0.01 micron, several of which are cleanable and re-useable.

MAGENTICALLY-COUPLED SELF-CLEANING FILTER
simplifies liquid filtration

The MCF filter eliminates external shaft and drive seals, requires less maintenance and has a simple design with very few wear parts. The mechanically-cleaned filter utilizes an innovative magnetically coupled drive technology that moves the cleaning disc without the need for external shaft or drive seals. Its simplified filter design also means there are very few wear parts, resulting in less routine maintenance and smaller spare parts inventory. MCF paint and coating filters are suitable for highly viscous liquids such as paint, adhesives, resins, or similar materials -- as well as applications that require high filter media cleaning frequency. When utilizing the MCF filter, filtrate flows from the top down and from the inside of the media toward the outside to increase retention of contaminants. The patented design uses a four-way spring-loaded cleaning disc that travels up and down inside the filter media -- removing collected contaminants. The cleaning disc continually drives undesirable solids downward, where they are concentrated in the purging chamber for easy elimination.

pcs 2004/539 ISOLATION RINGS
for process applications

This line of application rings allows simplified mounting of gauges and switches while isolating the instrument from the process fluid. As process liquid flows through the isolation ring, pressure is transmitted through the 360° internal flexible cylinder to the gauge to provide accurate readings. There are no access ports in the design of the ring, so there are no collection points for the buildup of solids or openings that can plug and interfere with the accuracy of your readings. The isolation rings are actually self-cleaning because the inner flexible cylinder is the same diameter as the inner diameter of the piping, so it's continually cleaned by the flowing liquid. A needle valve that is integral to the design of the isolation ring allows one to remove the pressure instrument for calibration, repair or replacement without shutting down the process flow.

FLUOROPOLYMER TUBING
for demanding applications

Chemfluor® FEP, PFA and PTFE tubing offer excellent chemical and physical properties and can be used in numerous highly demanding applications. In addition to being chemically inert, the tubings can operate in temperatures ranging from 450°F to 500°F depending on the polymer type. The tubes are pure and non-contaminating because no plasticizers or fillers are used. They are non-toxic and meet FDA criteria for contact with food. Typical applications include chemical transfer, analytical and process equipment, general laboratory use, flow meters, hose and pipe liners, site gauges and valve and pump linings.
