LOW PROFILE LINEAR GUIDES for high-speed applications DryLin® N low-profile linear guide systems are designed for high-speed applications. DryLin N is extremely fast with a small mounting height and width. Plastic gliding elements run in an anodized aluminum rail, which enables oil-free, maintenance-free operation. Because it is entirely self-lubricating, it is ideal for environments that prohibit the use of lubricated linear systems. DryLin N is also suited to short-travel applications. Even at speeds up to 32 feet per second, it still runs with no lubrication and will not score the rail. DryLin N can be used in medical devices, test instruments, packaging machinery, custom assembly machinery and material-handling devices. It is available in four widths. igus, inc.

TOOL RECOGNITION SYSTEM uses laser to detect broken tools The TRS1 Tool Recognition System was created for high speed detection in real machining conditions. It uses proprietary Tool Recognition technology to distinguish "good" intact tools from "bad" broken tools. The system provides a reliable solution to automated checking of solid profile cutting tools, including drills, taps, reamers and end mills. Laser precision makes it especially effective with tiny, easily broken tools down to 0.5mm diameter. With the tool spinning, Tool Recognition electronics monitor light reflected from the tool. Good tools present a regular light pattern and are passed, while bad tools present random or no light pattern raising an alarm. The recognition is fast, usually taking about one second. Renishaw Inc.
