RedHat Next Generation is a new line of solenoid valves that sets industry standards for reliability and power consumption. The valve accepts both AC and DC voltages. The valves are ideal for customers who prefer DC-powered valves or for those using DC-powered field networks and desiring higher performance valves. The valves also offer reduced power requirements in Ac-voltage applications. The Next Generation technology incorporates built-in surge suppression that protects both the solenoid cell and system electrical controls. The feature also eliminates inductive spikes generated by the solenoid, greatly lengthening the lives of mechanical or solid-state switches and ending the need for external scrubber circuits. RedHat Next Generation products include 2-, 3- and 4-way solenoid valves for most fluid control applications.

ASCO Valve Canada

Weidmuller's connectPower™ line of power supplies has added Class II (UL 1310) to its long list of approvals. Two models feature this approval: the 1A and 2.3A models which deliver 24 Vdc with an output wattage of 24W and 55W respectively while fulfilling all of the compliance levels as limited by UL 1310 standard. These power supplies offer a wide input voltage range of both AC and DC, with regulated output voltage of 24Vdc. The units are DIN mounted, fully enclosed, with LED indication and the 2.3A unit offers pluggable screw clamp connectors for ease of wiring. Besides the Class II approval they also carry CSA, cULus Listing, CE compliance and Class 1 Div. 2 and Zone 2.

The PosiTector® ultrasonic thickness gauge is ideal for measuring wall thickness and the effects of corrosion or erosion on tanks, pipes or any structure where access is limited to one side. The simple to use and durable PosiTector UTG features a scan mode for quick inspection over a large area, a Hi/Lo alarm, an internal memory which stores up to 250 readings and preprogrammed velocities.

DeFelsko (Canada) Ltd.

This new adjustable-height workbench is constructed of stainless steel for use in sanitary or corrosive work environments such as food and beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical processing. The stainless steel AWH series workbench provides instant adjustments of working heights at up to four-inches-per-second lifting speed to accommodate a variety of work positioning requirements and ergonomic working heights for different workers. It features an air/oil hydraulic lift system that provides a full range of height increments within its lift stroke. Model AHW2718 has a lift stroke of 18" from 27" to 45" high. The reusable HLL shock-absorber features built-in tension indicator, built-in impact indicator, single span to 20 m, multiple span up to 91.4 m using intermediate supports, minimal line deflection. The ARC-POWER PLUS timing belts and pulleys have new construction and design features such as reduced vibration, reduced noise level, increased power, 100% tracking in both running directions without flanges, continuous tooth engagement in a tangential belt-pulley arrangement, smooth interaction with idler and tensioners running on the toothed side of the timing belt eliminating tooth jumping, based on the overlapping tooth arrangement. ARC-POWER PLUS timing belts are available as open-ended, spliced and welded endless and truly endless polyurethane timing belts. Mead's push-in muffler's unique stem design can be installed or removed in seconds and gives superior performance in noise control with minimum effect on air efficiency. The muffler may be used on Mead's Isonic® valve system plus virtually any directional control valve or manifold with push-in fittings. The mufflers are injection moulded and constructed of glass filled polypropylene. The slotted body permits rapid discharge of air without back pressure. EXAIR's 2,800 Btu/hr Cabinet Coolers keep electrical enclosures cool with 20°F air and protect sensitive electronics from harsh environments. The 2,800 Btu/hr cooling capacity is ideal for large electrical enclosures or where high heat loads are present. Cabinet Coolers incorporate a vortex tube that cools ordinary compressed air to 29°F. The cool air is circulated through the enclosure to eliminate high temperature malfunction. They mount to NEMA 12, 4 or 4X (stainless steel) enclosures through a standard electrical knockout. The systems include an automatic drain filter separator to ensure no moisture passes to the inside of the electrical enclosure.

These housing covers have been designed to protect block-style inductive proximity sensors from heat, abrasion, debris and minor impacts. The housing covers press-fit onto sensors to give them an "added skin". The housing covers are useful in deflecting debris (paint overspray, chemicals and molten metal, etc.) and thus allow greater sensor reliability. Fabricated from various plastic types including Teflon®, Delrin® and HDPE, these covers extend sensor life. The Hannay NSCR700 cable reel features a compact design with a sturdy, narrow frame for use with live electrical cable. Automated Packaging Systems

EXAIR's new Super Blast air guns deliver up to 9.8 pounds of blowing force. The three sizes are suited for long distance, wide area blowoff, drying and cooling applications. The unit uses a series of EXAIR's Super Air Nozzles for combined blowing power. Each nozzle has been engineered to maximize entrained airflow and force while reducing compressed air use and noise. The guns are available with four, seven or twelve nozzles. At full pressure of 80 PSIG, they have an air consumption of 56, 98 and 168 SCFM while providing extremely strong blowoff force of 3.2, 5.7 and 9.8 pounds.

The Planner provides both visual and text approaches to the complex task of producing working schedules in planning and resource environments where many orders are processed at once. It combines the visual features and impact of a manual planning board with the speed, utility and smarts of a sophisticated workstation. Visual Planning Corporation

Viking's thin liquid internal gear pumps handle low viscosity liquids with high efficiency. These pumps are ideal for even non-lubricating or corrosive liquids with low viscosities. The pumps are self-priming and capable of reversible direction of flow, enabling use of one pump instead of two for loading/unloading or line stripping. The gear pump's flow is directly proportional to input speed, allowing it to meter process liquids. Thin liquid models are available in iron, steel or stainless steel, with adjustable end clearances and idler gears of iron, non-galling 770 alloy or PPO composite.

The new ProMus line of hydraulically actuated chemical process pumps delivers reliable results in the harshest of environments, in accordance with API 675 standards. A unique modular design and interchangeable plungers make the pumps easy to modify and easy to repair. With built-in air bleed and relief valve (with visual indicator) and shipped with oil already in it, the ProMus pump is easy to install. The Keyence CV-2600 high-speed machine vision system incorporates the 2 mega-pixel CDD built into a small camera housing. The CDD can inspect an area four times larger than conventional cameras at the same resolution. The CV-2600 controller also supports two cameras. The new small camera can be mounted in tight spaces, thereby greatly increasing installation flexibility. The camera sensitivity is adjustable in 81 increments. A higher sensitivity ensures sufficient brightness even when a high shutter speed is used. A new high-flex camera cable, capable of over 1 million band cycles, is available for robotic applications.

This line of small vibratory feeders boosts a unique Hi-Vi magnetic drive circuit that provides a straightforward yet powerful solution to complicated material feeding applications. The feeders feature a totally enclosed, dust and moisture-resistant magnetic drive that extends coil life and allows trouble-free external cleaning. The feeders have the ability to feed virtually any bulk material from micron size to bulky chunks. Simple AC controls operate the feeders with "watch like" precision. Thermographic electrical cabinet inspections can now be safely and quickly conducted using infra-red-transmissive sightglasses. The Hawk C-Range window, is Ulc approved for retrofit, lockable and maximizes infrared inspection efficiency, by reducing the need to open panel doors. Tested to meet IEEE C37.20.7-2001, the sightglasses withstand a 40kA, 30 cycle short and continue to surpass arc flash safety expectations. The solid, visually transparent crystal design eliminates the concern of unsafe ingress openings or unsuitable opaque materials.

FLIR Systems

The Laser Microgage Kit for use in factories and manufacturing facilities includes a new laser squaring attachment called the 90-Line for checking machine beds, vertical cutting machinery, roll parallelism, squaring slides and gantries, and measuring geometric parameters. The kit and the 90-Line are compact, easy to set up and highly versatile for use in many industries. The 90-Line has been used in shipbuilding applications, aligning rollers on converting and laminating lines, positioning parallel rails for precision slides and checking milling and cutting tools.

Pinpoint Laser Systems

Siemens SITRANS AS 100 Acoustic Sensor has received European ATEX II 3D approval which certifies this device for use in hazardous areas and conditions where explosive dust may be present. It is a high frequency acoustic sensor for continuous solids flow detection. The unit detects changes in high frequency, structure borne, sound waves from equipment and materials in motion. It reacts instantly to changes in solids flow to warn of blockages, product absence, or equipment failure such as burst filter bags. The 0-10V DC analog output works with the SITRANS CU 92 controller or the customer's PLC to alert to conditions of high flow, low flow or no flow. Easily mounted on the outside chutes, pipes and fan housings, the AS 100 is suitable for production monitoring of fine powders to large granulars in hazardous or hygienic environments.

A new metric stoke of 18mm is available on the Z26000 captive linear actuators. This new extended travel offering is available in a wide variety of resolutions ranging from 0.0127mm to 0.1016mm per step and offers up to 4.5 Kg of force. Utilizing rare earth magnets, the Z-series linear actuators provide a solution for linear movement. All Z series actuators are designed for low or high volume applications. Typical applications include medical devices, small machinery, instrumentation and virtually any applications where precise linear motion is required in high volumes.

Haydon Switch & Instrument, Inc.

With the Viper 40™, a combination of UHP water jets and rotating action can be achieved with a standard lance. This accessory rotates by the reaction energy of the water, eliminating an air source to power the rotation. The new head features two carbide and sapphire nozzle inserts, rotating at up to 5,000 rpm. Both are recessed to minimize knocks and damage. The round design of the precision-machined, stainless steel body also contributes to long life. The Viper 40™ is rated for pressures between 24,000 and 40,000 psi (1,650 and 2,800 bar), with a maximum flow of 6 gpm (22.7 lpm).

NLB Corp.

Series UTP Universal Thread Plugs offer unique versatility for plugging needs. Each plug in the series is designed to accommodate a large range of thread sizes while satisfying the fit requirements with inside dimensional fluctuations. Series UTP helps guard against physical damage to threads and prevents the entry of dirt and other contaminants during storage and transit. Each tab is designed with a small pull-tab inside for easy removal. The series is available in seven different sizes, but can be used for up to 17 different thread sizes. These plugs are made from durable, low-density polyethylene plastic and are available in red.

Caplugs

The new CNC coordinate measuring machine (CMM) system is designed for large part measurements such as car body frames. The system is engineered for high accuracy and maximum productivity. The newly designed Horizontal Arm CNC CMM can be configured to operate singularly or in a dual opposing arm system. As a dual arm system, the two arms are situated opposite from each other allowing independent and simultaneous measurements to be performed in an Open Bay. This Open Bay approach provides for parts such as car and light truck body assemblies and other similar, large-envelope components, to be easily introduced into the machine volume for inspection purposes.

Intended to be worn by themselves or as primary eye protection under welding or grinding helmets, Torch Wear® safety glasses employ Oakley's patented XYZ Optics® to maintain visual clarity at all angles. Torch Wear

The Dynasonics Series DTTN ultrasonic transducer set is now available in a configuration certified for use in Class 1 Division 1, Groups C & D hazardous environments. The intrinsically safe transducer is designed specifically for use in a hazardous atmosphere, such as oil refineries, chemical plants and plant manufacturing in which flammable gases or explosive dust may be present. The IS transducer configuration includes a modified set of DTTN transducer heads and an enclosure that contains two high-frequency barriers. The barriers permit the RF signals to transmit back and forth to the transducers, while preventing potentially explosive levels of DC or AC voltage from passing through to the hazardous area.
