Baumer's new ultrasonic proximity sensors generate a highly focused beam of sound that can easily access very tight spaces and openings. Just 0.5-inch in diameter and 3.5 to 4 inches long, these sensors are ideal for small space applications in pharmaceutical, medical, food, cosmetic, and household and personal care packaging manufacturing. These ultrasonic sensors are available either as UNAM 12U9914/S14D analog models with variable signals or UNAM12P1914/S14D discrete (on/off) models. The analog sensors offer sensing distances up to 82mm, while discrete models deliver sensing accuracy up to 70mm. The sensors feature a narrow beam angle of just 6°, while the nose cone or beam columnator narrows the focus of the 12mm sensor to an opening of just 4.9mm.

Nilfisk CFM has launched the CFM 08 series of industrial vacuum cleaners, designed for heavy-duty clean-ups in manufacturing plants and other facilities. The new, user-friendly vacuums feature clog-resistant filter and interchangeable attachments for fast, continuous cleaning, and quiet-running motors and cord holders for easier, safer operation. They are ideal for a variety of environments, including industrial manufacturing, food manufacturing, powder coating and metalworking. The three-phase, HEPA-filtered CFM 08 series vacuums are engineered for non-stop operation and minimal maintenance. Oversized main filters prevent premature clogging; a newly designed filter shaker handle enables workers to "shake down" filters with minimal effort and a side inlet provides a better cyclonic effect, resulting in maximum suction power and minimal clogging.

Donaldson Ultrafilter has introduced their new DS Series compressed air condensate oil/water separator product line. Liquid condensate is generated at a number of points throughout a compressed air system. Whenever condensate forms, it must be removed from the compressed air system and discharged in a manner that is environmentally sound. When oil is present, the condensate must be purified to legal levels of residual oil content before it can be discharged to public water treatment systems. That level may have to be reduced to 100 ppm or lower, depending on local ordinances. DS Series oil/water separators have been designed to meet or exceed those discharge levels as efficiently as possible. In addition, this new line of oil/water separators incorporates a number of installation and maintenance enhancements including: multiple condensate inlet ports, a more easily removed and cleaned sedimentation tank, tapered carbon bag chambers for ease of change-out, a knob-adjustable oil skimming tray and an attached, hinged lid.
