Aries has introduced a RoHS-compliant version of its 20-pin PLCC IC to 16-pin DIP Correct-A-Chip™ adapter. The new adapter converts a PLCC-packaged type clock chip to a DIP footprint without changing the PCB layout. The RoHS-compliant adapter features a PLCC clock chip on top with pin counts from 1 through 20 pins, and has a 1-through 16-pin DIP clock chip on the bottom. The design is unique in that it is slightly offset to avoid typical bypass capacity placement.

The clip is used in "N+1" rectifier, power supply and switching power supply applications. It provides low voltage drop and superior amperage carrying capability. Tyco has added coloured plugs, caps and headers to its Universal MATE-N-LOCK connector line. Previously, the only colour options were white or natural plastics. In total, nine colours are now available including: red, orange, yellow, brown, green, blue, gray, black and white. With the newly introduced colour schemes, designers can colour-code interconnections within the device they are designing, meet system colour-coded protocols or otherwise improve the visibility and aesthetics of wiring harnesses and wiring assemblies.
