Permabond® adds two new toughened cyanoacrylate (instant) adhesives to its growing product line. These products were added for ultimate impact resistance and peel strength. Permabond 731 and 735 form excellent bonds, rapidly to a variety of surfaces including aluminum, steel, plastics and rubbers. Although designed for flexible substrates, the added flexibility and toughness allows even greater shear strengths to steel and other rigid materials. Permabond 735 is opaque black and Permabond 731 is crystal clear. Both products are suitable for bonding applications that involve impact, peel and flexing stresses.

Permabond® Engineering Adhesives

Weighing only 135 grams, the CV659 cartridge valve can be comfortably held in the hand without stress. Suitable for lubricants, silicones and adhesives, it is suitable for manual operations where an operator needs to apply frequent dispensing deposits. The valve is also recommended for integration in an automated system, where the quick change one-piece cartridge seal ensures minimal maintenance and reduced downtime. Stroke is adjustable and the valve is recommended for micro shots or fine-beads. Maximum fluid pressure is 300 psi making it suitable for a wide variety of low to high viscosity fluids.

Master Bond has successfully developed a new, highly flexible two component epoxy resin compound called EP40 which features outstanding shear and peel strength and is especially designed for bonding, sealing and casting engineering plastics and metals. This compound has been formulated to cure readily at ambient or more quickly at elevated temperatures with convenient non-critical one to one mix ratio by weight or volume. Additional performance characteristics include superior resistance to thermal cycling and mechanical vibration and shock. Electrical insulation properties are excellent, even after prolonged exposure to hostile environmental conditions.

Its controlled, waste-free application makes it a highly accurate alternative to squeeze bottles, hand syringes and other manual applicators. The DXR refill station was designed for quick and easy refilling of the DX Series dispensing system. The DXR helps to create a versatile and accurate solution for two-component material dispensing. The MIXPAC DX System offers the ability to dispense 1:1, 1.5:1, 2:1, 4:1, and 10:1 ratios for 2 component reactive resins. Multiple hand-held dispensers can be quickly refilled with one DXR. The DXR refill station utilizes two transfer pumps that feed from five-gallon bulk containers of material, each equipped with follower plates to handle a wide range of viscosities.

DYMAX MD® light curing adhesive 1161-M aggressively bonds a wide variety of plastic and metal substrates. The adhesive cures upon exposure to UV/visible light in seconds, enabling faster processing, greater output and lower assembly costs. In addition, 1161-M fluoresces under low-intensity black light for immediate in-line functional testing and inspection.

Adchem's 7742-74 and 7745-74 durable transfer tapes, 2-mils and 5-mils respectively, consist of a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive system and provide excellent shear strengths at elevated temperatures up to 300°F. The polyester fiber reinforcement provides roll stability when slit to widths as narrow as 1/8". Adchem's adhesive transfer tapes, feature excellent adhesion to metals and plastics, including low surface energy substrates.

The ACA 161A water-based adhesive is designed to bond polypropylene and other engineering plastics to metals such as aluminum. Tests have shown that ACA 161A will provide a very strong bond between polypropylene and aluminum. It can be applied directly to the materials surface, eliminating assembly time required for primers. The formula is water-based, which allows for easy clean-up. It can be applied to metal foil by gravure printing, reverse roll or wire wound bar coating methods. If necessary, it can be applied with a brush, paint roller or by spray coating.

This new line of UV curable adhesives is specially formulated for applications where crystal clear, invisible bonds are required. One component LCD adhesives resist yellowing, allowing for increased light transmission and accurate colour, enhancing the brightness and clarity of liquid crystal displays, monitors, screens and kiosk panels. DYMAX solvent-free laminating adhesives bond a variety of substrates including polycarbonate, glass, CAB, acrylic, Phenolic, PET and ITO upon exposure to UV light in seconds.

The PHB3000 translucent acrylic pressure-sensitive tape is designed to provide a uniform high bond between virtually any substrate, including intricate shapes, glass and other clear materials. Pres-On PHB3000 is ideal; for signage, skin-to-frame assembly, furniture and appliances and is especially effective in attaching auto trim. Able to withstand weathering, moisture and a wide temperature range, the tape will not harden or become brittle with age, so it can be used to replace mechanical fasteners or welds. It is also highly effective in dampening vibration, sound and shock.

The model DV509-UV-LF is a diaphragm action valve that has been designed for UV resins. The wetted chamber is compatible for low to medium viscosity UV materials. The valve is high cycling, rated at 200 cycles a minute and its lightweight compact design makes it especially suitable for automated systems. A diaphragm seal is attached to a solenoid that opens upon receiving an air signal from an I&J Fisnar valve controller. The diaphragm flexes to allow fluid to exit for the duration that the seal is opened. A return spring snaps the diaphragm shut after the air signal is removed.

Pres-On® Pres-Mount double-coated foam tape provides a secure means for OEMs to mount and fasten materials, often eliminating the need for spot welds, screws and glue. Two part Loctite® Speedbonder™ structural adhesives bond aluminum, steel and galvanized metals to a variety of substrates including plastics and composites and dramatically reduce the need for mechanical fasteners. Loctite® H4720™ Speedbonder™ structural adhesive provides excellent environmental resistance on a range of metals. Loctite® H8000™ Speedbonder™ structural adhesive fixtures in just 10 to 15 minutes and provides excellent impact and peel strength on aluminum surfaces. In addition to the specialty adhesives, two general purpose adhesive formulations are available. Loctite® H3151™ Speedbonder™ structural adhesive offers 35 to 40 minutes of open time for part adjustment and provides excellent bond strength on aluminum and steel. The Ultra® 2400 Dispensing Workstation removes all guesswork and variability from the fluid dispensing process by using a precision air regulator and microprocessor-controlled timer to determine how much material is applied. Shot size is controlled through a combination of dispensing tip size, air pressure and dispense time, which is adjustable in .0001 second increments for exceptional control of deposit size. Material is dispensed from a syringe barrel that can be held like a pen or mounted on an optional arm to leave the operator's hands free to position or assemble parts. Mixed as dispensed, the epoxy has a viscosity of 80,000 cps, a working time of 10 minutes, a fixture time of 20 minutes, and a functional cure time of 3 hours at 72°F. Two other flame-retardant products -- 5 Minute® Epoxy FR and Cable Cast FR -- provide safety reliability in aerospace, mining, power distribution, and many other applications. Both are solvent-free and cure at room temperature.

It is ideal for any sealing, bonding or coating application. It can be applied from a standard caulking cartridge for applications in exhaust systems, diesel engines, gas turbines, heating plants, etc. New free flowing formulations are available for rapid or automatic dispensing applications. Just mix and apply. 7030 bonds to most metals, ceramics, door gaskets, tadpole gaskets and ceramic cloths and has excellent adhesion to steel, stainless, aluminum, lead, ceramics, etc.

WCD self-laminating label dispensers contain write-on self-laminating labels that can be used in electronics, industrial applications and general-purpose labelling applications where the protective attributes of self-laminating labels are designed. WCD dispensers are pocket sized and contain a roll of pre-cut self-laminating cable markers. Each marker has a white markable area that is laminated by the clear portion of the label as it is wrapped and secured around a wire or cable. The clear protective portion of the label helps keep chemicals and frequent handling from affecting the marked area of the label. An oil-resistant, aggressive acrylic adhesive backs the labels.
