CURRENT SENSORS

AutomationDirect announces the addition of current sensors to its product offerings. The AcuAMP series is a family of high performance current sensors offering flexibility and durability. Backed with a five-year warranty, the complete line of current sensors, transducers, and switches will provide dependable service for virtually any application. The ACT series current transducers, available in split-core and fixed-core models, has jumper-selectable current input ranges and industry standard 4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC outputs. The ACTR series current transducers combine a current transformer and a True RMS signal conditioner into one unit. The new AcuAMP series also includes current operated switches equipped with LED status indication. The ACSX series high-performance current-operated switch has a field-adjustable time delay feature to minimize trips from high inrush or short overload conditions during start-up and operation.

Tennant's T15 Battery-Powered Industrial Scrubber features FaST technology. A replacement to the popular 7200 industrial scrubber, the T15 offers all of the features of the 7200 as well as several new industry-leading enhancements that provide improved productivity, cleanliness and safety. The T15 includes a 45-gallon solution tank and 55-gallon recovery tank that improve productivity and maximize cleaning time by reducing the number of empty and fill cycles. Its NFSI-certified FaST technology improves environmental safety by using 70 percent less water and 90 percent less chemical. The SSN800 series stainless steel hose reel features a narrow frame that makes it ideal for mounting in smaller spaces. With no paint to chip and no potential for rust and corrosion, these reels are ideal for the food and beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. Typical applications include washdown, chemical transfer, potable water, food ingredient transfer and even fire protection. The SSN800 is constructed of fine grade 304 stainless frames, discs and drum. It handles single ID hose from 3/4-in to 1-in and can accommodate pressures to 1000 psi and temperatures from ­7°C to +204°C. The SSN800 has a heavy-duty spring motor with self-contained rewind power and a non-sparking ratchet assembly locks the reel when the desired length of hose has been played out.

The CC3000 is built on a modular platform to offer maximum flexibility. Users can select from four standard models sized to fit the most popular HMI tools, including fast-screen devices, lights, meters and gauges. HYRobotics introduces NEXIA series 3 Axis Servo Robot with body attached automatic gate cutting circuit. It will allow the robot to grip the parts and move to body attached gate cutting position to cut the gate or sprue and place the robot to conveyor or stack. The Nexia series robot controller easily adds position (even in automatic mode) and also motion. If mold is multi-cavity, molders can choose to install multi-cavity gate cutters to minimize cycle time or add position or gate cutting motion to use one gate cutter for multi-cavity parts. The Nexia series robot comes with 3 axis stacking feature -- parts can be stacked vertically and horizontally after gate cutting.

Infrared thermometers allow temperature measurement from a distance without contacting the object to be measured. WIKA offers a full line of handheld infrared pyrometers to measure hot, hard-to-reach, or moving parts including an intrinsically safe version that is both CSA and FM approved. Featuring enhanced optics, the user-friendly devices provide accurate readings over a broad range of temperatures from ­32°C to 760°C. All models are simple to use with °C or °F selectable temperature, laser point sighting, and large, easy to read display.

The Repeller is a solar powered unit that uses continuous motion to prevent large birds from landing. Rotating rods mounted on top of the unit sweep birds of streetlights, balconies, AC units and more. The two adjustable "arms" cover up to 5 feet in diameter by turning continuously at 30 rpms. A solar panel powers a heavy-duty brushless motor which will store energy. Ideal in high visibility areas, the unit can be mounted on flat or angled surfaces. It is easy to use virtually anywhere.

Orbitform's versatile Model B-310 fastening station combines power with precision. Available with real-time process monitoring and process control, the machine orbitally forms parts up to 7.92mm diameter of an equivalent area in tube, square or other form. Typical cycle time is less than three seconds from everything from mild steel to hardened metals. The B-310 is suitable for high volume applications and has an adjustable tool stroke from 1.52mm to 44.45 mm in 0.03mm increments.

The efector dualis object sensor is designed for object recognition and evaluation in production control. Objects are reliably detected and evaluated -- regardless of orientation -- with the sensor's 640x480 CMOS image processor. The sensor detects and compares defined shapes and provides up to five configurable outputs that include counting, sorting, logic functions and pass/fail. An LED display indicates active outputs. The compact sensor measures only 42 x 45 x 54 mm and incorporates an image sensor, evaluation electronics, and integrated infrared LED lighting in an industrial die-cast housing. The sensor's lighting provides the correct amount of brightness at a close range. For longer distances, an external lightsource of any colour can be used. Setup is quick via an Ethernet interface and menu-guided PC parameter setting.

It also performs Power over Ethernet (PoE) verification to the IEEE 802.3af standard and identifies the nearest switch with Cisco, Extreme and Link Layer Discovery Protocols (CDP/EDP/LLDP).

Seco's new line of insert cutters is suitable for roughing and semi-finishing in face and copy milling applications. The new cutters feature an extremely hard nickel coating (700+ Vickers) on the cutter body, which increases protection from chip wear, offers longer tool life and aids in chip evacuation. Additionally, the cutter bodies for the 10, 12 and 16 mm inserts have been redesigned to improve the axial support in the pocket seat and provide stronger lock reserve. The new inserts feature a round anvil shape and shorter anvil height to provide additional stability and allow for more cutting edges. This design change also ensures secure locking of the insert, preventing it from tilting and damaging the pocket seat.

The Wet Deburring Station offers a wet filtration system to capture potentially combustible filings and dust in an air/water mixing zone. By entrapping these particles in water, the potential flammability is reduced. After pulling the filings and dust through the air/water mixing zone, the material is then easily deposed of as a slurry. A hose drain port allows slurry to be conveniently drained with the connection of a standard garden hose. Weighing 100 lbs, the station is 21" wide, 20" deep and 36" high. The table-top design can be placed either on a countertop or a cart for easy transport from one work station to another.

The Telemecanique Zelio Plug-In relays combine many size, function and capability options to simplify installation and integration into machinery. Common applications for the plug-in relays include conveying, packaging and palletizing machinery, as well as compressors, HVAC, pumps and water treatment pumping stations. The new plug-in relay line consists of four product families -- the RSB interface relays, the RXM miniature relays, the RUM universal relays and RPM/RPF power relays. Configurable for specific applications and adaptable to all common voltages, these relays feature plug-in protection module to protect against electrical spikes, and plug-in jumper bars for coil terminals to avoid time-consuming wiring. The relays are UL, CSA and GL-certified and are RoHS-compliant.

The KR rocker switch, with its large actuator surface, was designed for applications requiring switches to have an attractive style, superior feel and high reliability. The KR is suited for applications in the marine, off-road, transportation and agriculture markets. Single and double-pole models are available in an extensive range of electrical configurations, including on-off, on-on, on-on-on, and on-on-mom. This switch is rated up to 15A at 12VDC for 10,000 cycles. The KR rocker switch can be customized to fit specific applications. It features custom marking and illumination with laser engraved legends.
