STEPPER
DRIVES
The STAC6-Si Stepper Drives are programmed for stand-alone operation with easy-to-use Si Programmer™ Windows-based software with integrated tuning. A graphical point-and-click format combines motion, I/O and operator interface functionality for simple machine sequencing. As a result, the STAC6-Si easily integrates on a machine with other devices such as sensors and PLCs. The drives feature current output from 0.5 to 6.0 A with 90-135 VAC input, 50/60 Hz, and provide software selectable resolutions from 200 to 51,200 steps/rev at speeds up to 50 rps. BALL SPLINES
The new Types SLS/SLF Ball Splines feature Caged Technology for even smoother operation. The ball spline is a direct motion system in which the balls embedded in the spline's external nut can convey torque while making smooth linear motion in the rolling groove of the precisely ground spline shaft. The incorporation of THK Caged Technology, and an optimized design of the ball circulation path, enhances this smooth movement in even vertical applications. The Caged Technology employs a synthetic resin cage with a patented curvature that cradles each ball and separates it from the next. The spaces between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term maintenance-free operation. THK America, Inc.

LINEAR GUIDEWAYS
Warner Linear announces the availability of new Linear Guideways, a line of high-speed, high accuracy guideway assemblies engineered for long-lasting, troublefree performance. The new series of linear guideways incorporates a patented recirculation system for smooth linear motion with very little noise. The combination of lube-retaining end caps and sealed bearing blocks reduce friction, ensuring quiet and accurate operation. End seals, available with optional double seals and scrapers, offer added protection from contamination. Warner Linear

RIGID BEAM
COUPLINGS
The F-Series flexible beam couplings feature high torsional rigidity. They feature six beams as configured by two sets of three spiral cuts. Compared to typical beam couplings that have fewer spiral cuts, the beams are shorter and have a steeper helix angle to make the F-Series couplings more resistive to wind-up and have a higher torque capacity. This makes the couplings ideal for light duty power transmission applications such as coupling a servo motor to a lead screw in a motion control system. Ruland Manufacturing Co., Inc.

LINEAR MOTION
BEARINGS
NB Slide Ways are non-recirculating linear motion bearings used primarily in optical and measurement equipment where high precision movement is required. The SV style consists of two roller cages with precision rollers in a cross arrangement and four rails with V-shaped raceways. The SVW has one rail with V-shaped grooves on both sides and 2 SV rails. LINEAR ROTARY
BEARINGS
Nordex Solid Linear Rotary Bearings feature a heavy-walled aluminum body for size stability under shock loads and severe loading conditions. Other features include: vibration absorbing Frelon™ Liner, concentric with ground O.D. within .001 T.I.R. There is no need for friction generating shaft wipers as liner rejects grit and foreign materials. Maintenance-free and self-lubricating, they are made to carry greater loads than anti-friction bearings to assure longer service life, less wear. Nordex, Incorporated

STAINLESS STEEL LINEAR GUIDE
The new stainless steel DryLin W compact linear guide system is corrosion-resistant, self-lubricating and maintenance-free. It is ideal for harsh environments such as underwater, chemical and washdown or for applications ranging from packaging to food and beverage, textile and marine. It can also withstand temperatures as high as 482°F. DryLin W is made with solid 316 stainless steel which maximizes both performance and corrosion resistance. It is available as a combination of two supported round shafts in one bolt-on profile, or a split rail configuration. Igus® Inc.

LINEAR DRIVE
The addition of an extra bearing in Amacoil/Uhing model RG3 linear drives doubles side thrust capacity without significantly increasing the length of the drive. For example, an RG3-30 drive provides 60 pounds of axial thrust and has a 150mm long housing. The 4-bearing option (RG4-30) delivers 120 pounds of thrust, yet the housing is only 30mm longer than that of the RG3 drive. For sizes RG3-40 and larger the 3- and 40 bearing drive housings have identical dimensions. The drives are used in machinery requiring a reciprocating motion component such as scanning equipment, winding machines, spraying assemblies, converting and packaging equipment and in other automated machinery. LEAD SCREWS
Kerk's lead screw, linear rail, spline shaft and ScrewRail® actuator assemblies feature Kerkote® TFE coating which reduces friction and extends the life of the maintenance-free assemblies, which are ideal for motion control applications in a variety of industries. Kerkote provides the maximum level of self-lubrication, requiring no additional external lubrication or maintenance. Since it is a dry lubricant, it will not become dry and paste-like, and does not attract dirt or debris. Kerk Motion Products

LEADSCREW
ASSEMBLIES
Haydon's new line of leadscrew assemblies includes a broad offering of acme leadscrews, advanced coatings and anti-backlash nuts. The acme leadscrews manufactured from 303 stainless steel are produced with the company's proprietary precision rolling process and are also available with Black Ice™ coating, a specially developed PTFE coating process, which eliminates flaking. The anti-backlash nuts are ideal for applications that require precise positioning as they eliminate the minimal backlash between the lead screw and nut interface. The new nuts are available with a thread mount and are easily customizable with a variety of standard or special flange configurations. Haydon Switch & Instrument, Inc. |

LINEAR BEARING
SYSTEM
Designed for manufacturers of material handling, packaging, transportation, and similar equipment, the TWINRACE™ linear bearing system offers the ability to carry payloads ranging from 50 lbs to over 5000 lbs over distances up to and exceeding 4.0 meters. Its unique design is able to compensate for mild rail misalignments, allowing use directly on low precision surfaces such as welded steel frames, sheet metal housings, and aluminum extrusion based frames. The TWINRACE is tolerant of contamination and works well in dusty, gritty or otherwise dirty environments. The Precision Alliance

BRUSHLESS MOTORS
The Maxon EC-max series of brushless motors are electronically commutated, thus enabling extremely long motor life, since there are no mechanical brushes to wear out. Hall effect sensors are built in to the motor in order to provide feedback to the control electronics. By assembling the motor such that the coils are outside the rotor, good heat dissipation and high overload capability is attained. The motors have a stainless steel housing and vary in diameter from 16 to 40mm while the length ranges from 24 to 88mm. The motors are well suited for a variety of applications including automation, bio-medical devices, pick and place machines, robotics, pumps, and semiconductor manufacturing.
