ANGLE ENCODERS

Signum™ RESM optical angle encoders make an ideal fit for direct drive rotary (DDR) motors, eliminating position error and backlash while delivering speeds to over 3,600 rev/min, accuracy to +/-0.5 arc second, plus resolution and repeatability to 0.02 arc second. The RESM encoder features a large diameter, low-profile stainless steel ring that mounts directly to the machine shaft, avoiding coupling losses, oscillation, shaft torsion and other hysteresis errors inherent with sealed encoders. The direct-mount, low-inertia ring design eliminates transmission components and encoder couplings, improving stiffness and dynamic response.

BRUSH DC MOTORS

PITTMAN® Series 14000™ brush-commutated DC motors and gearmotors feature 11-slot skewed armatures to minimize magnetic cogging (or reluctance torque) and promote quiet and smooth operation. They ideally suit a wide range of power applications, including computer peripherals, imaging, and clinical diagnostics, among countless others. The motors are available in seven lengths and can achieve peak torques up to 410 oz-in and speeds up to 4,230 RPM. The gearmotors are offered in seven lengths with four ratios from 5.9:1 to 218.4:1 and can provide peak torques to 175 oz-in (standard) or 500 oz-in (with high-torque wide-face gears). Speed, voltage, current, and torque characteristics can be varied to meet specific needs.

THREE-PHASE AC MOTOR DRIVE

The new drives -- the MotiFlex e 100 range -- can be used in both centralized control and distributed 'intelligent drive' scenarios. The initial launch provides drives rated for output powers up to 16 A, in five steps of 1, 5, 3, 6, 10, 5 and 16 A. Each drive features an Ethernet hub enabling systems to be built using a simple daisy-chain connection scheme. The high-speed and deterministic Ethernet Powerlink network operating at 100 Mbits/sec, cuts cabling substantially and can greatly reduce the costs of building large multi-axis systems. For example, a single Ethernet Powerlink machine controller can manage systems up to 16 interpolated axes.

LINEAR MOTION GUIDE

THK's Type SRS-N block lengths start from size 9 to 15. The dynamic load rating starts at 3.48C, while static load ratings start at 3.34 Co. Featuring patented THK Caged Technology, the Type SRS-N performs with smooth, quiet motion, Caged Technology employs a synthetic resin cage with a patented curvature that cradles each ball and separates it from the next. The spaces between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term maintenance-free oper ation.
