GENERAL PURPOSE MOTORS

AutomationDirect's new IronHorse™ general purpose AC motor line includes rolled steel and cast iron types in the most popular styles. IronHorse motors are available in single and three-phase models and in one-third to 300 hp sizes; all motors have a base speed of 1800 RPM and are electrically reversible. The MTR series 56C frame motors, in one-third to 2HP sizes, are housed in rolled steel, totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) enclosures and are equipped with removable bolt on-bolt off bases. The three-phase industrial duty MTC series motors are T frame TEFC motors available in one to 300 HP sizes and feature ribbed designed cast iron frames to ensure maximum cooling.

EXAIR's new stainless steel Super Air Wipe™ produces a 360° airstream that can blow off, dry, clean or cool the material passing through the centre. The split design can be easily clamped around continuously moving material such as pipe, hose, cable, wire and extruded shapes. The stainless steel construction is suitable for food, chemical and pharmaceutical applications as well as those found in corrosive or high temperature locations. Applications include wiping wire; drying inks, paint and screen printing; cooling hot extruded shapes; and blowoff of water, plating, coatings and dust.

PRESSURE SENSOR

A new line of pump diagnostic pressure sensors detects potential pump damage caused by cavitation, trapped air or gas, blockages and deposits. The PIM Series pressure sensor can perform two functions in one compact housing: pump monitoring and pressure detection. The sensor continuously monitors a pump to provide numeric indication of the operating system pressure and offers independent continuous diagnosis of the pump's condition. The stainless steel PIM pressure sensor is designed for sanitary applications and uses a variety of sanitary adapters for a secure fitting in washdown, CIP and SIP conditions.

Pepperl+Fuchs introduces a new family of ultrasonic thru-beam proximity sensors for splice, label and double sheet detection. Each solution is just 18mm in diameter and features a teach-in input mode for easy set-up and operation, with a detection threshold that is easily adjusted for each specific application. They are IP67 protected and provide a sensing range from 20mm-60mm, with an optimal sensing range of 45mm. These splice, label and double sheet detectors are insensitive to printing, colours and glossy surfaces. Changes in ambient conditions are compensated for automatically, with very high processing speeds possible.
