Optimizes manufacturing operations

The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex DC drives are ideal for a variety of demanding standalone or coordinated drive control and drive system applications. Available in 1.5 Hp to 150 Hp @ 230 VAC and 2 Hp to 400 Hp @ 460 VAC, the PowerFlex DC drives feature extensive analog and digital I/O options for flexible installation while the PowerFlex drive peripheral interface (DPI) allows easy connectivity to a variety of communication adapters and programming tools. Regenerative and non-regenerative DC drive configurations are available.

Rockwell Automation, Inc.

DFS 60 Incremental Encoders are now available in blind hollow shaft versions. These blind hollow shaft encoders are designed to significantly reduce the potential for contamination by dust, dirt or water, making them well suited for use in dirty or dusty environments with water washdown cleansing. DFS60 blind hollow shaft encoders deliver from 1 to 65,536 ppr. They also provide reliable operation in temperatures ranging from -20 up to 100°C. The encoders feature a nickel code disc. A radial/axial cable outlet reduces installation depth and allows a single encoder type to be used for various applications.

The new FN Series double-conversion-on-line Uninterruptible Power Supplies for scalable protection for industrial and process control applications allows users the choice of scaling from 3kVA to 24KVA or with this new model release, scale from 8kVA to 40kVA. The new FN models include a wide input voltage window, as well as a Remote Emergency Power Off interface and an LCD display with advanced monitoring for quick and easy UPS management.

The nuvoDisc™ family of flat brushless DC miniature motors features a small footprint (32mm diameter and 11.7mm length) and is engineered specifically where miniaturization is key and is ideally suited for space constrained applications such as portable respirators and barcode scanners. A high-speed slotless design significantly reduces vibration and eliminates cogging to provide smoother operation and better accuracy for maintaining a stable speed. A slotted design is available for applications that require detent torque.

Portescap

Robotic layer forming virtually eliminates damage caused by conventional palletizers as they mechanically turn the packages to form interlocking patterns that are necessary to create a stable pallet without a reduction in palletizing speed. The solution utilizes a KUKA KR 40 PA robot to positively orient and position each case or package to form the layer. The result is a robust, repeatable, flexible, and fast palletizing solution that does not sacrifice product or case integrity. The KUKA KR 40 PA robot is a 4 axis robot with payload capacity of 40 kg and a reach up to 2091mm. It utilizes state-of-the-art carbon fiber composite materials making it extremely light without sacrificing stiffness.

KUKA Robotics Corporation

The H-T70t widescreen operator panel for industrial use offers 800x480 pixels resolution on a 7 inch display. This may mean that an operator can have instant access to valuable information instead of having to switch to another screen. The H-T70t is available in two versions, where one has a built-in Ethernet port. Both models have a touchscreen interface, a menu key and six user-defined function keys. USB-support is provided with two host ports and one device port.

The RoboTrim® RT-1002 turnkey robotic router trimming system not only trims parts fast, but also offers substantial trimming flexibility. The RT-1002 standard model features a KMT AccuTrim® R-44 robot mounted inside a steel enclosure. The system's two-sided rotating table has a 1000 pound part and fixture capacity and can rotate 3 foot by 5 foot (and sometimes longer and narrower) parts into and out of the cell in less than three seconds. This allows finished parts to be safely unloaded by the operator while unfinished parts are being trimmed inside the cell. KMT's application-specific tools and FANUC Robotics iPendant teach pendant simplify the part programming process. The RoboTrim® RT-1002 can be customized to meet manufacturers' specific trimming needs.

KMT Robotic Solutions

The YK-XG Series of Scara Robots includes models with arm lengths of 500mm, 600mm, 700mm, 800mm, 900mm, and 1000mm. All units have a maximum payload of 20 Kg. The Series provides R axis repeatability of +/-0.005°. A new design that couples a spline nut with the R axis reduction gears has been adopted.

Yahama Robotics

The series of intercompatible CompactPCI/-Express single board computers has been enhanced with a new 64-bit board based on the Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7500 combined with the Mobile Intel 965GM Express Chipset. The F18 SBC offers excellent graphics performance, making it ideal for a host of industrial applications such as monitoring, visualization or control computers as well as applications in test and measurement. Its specially developed heat sink and soldered components against shock and vibration equip the F18 for use in mobile applications as well.

MEN Micro Inc.

Proficy® Workflow, powered by the new Proficy SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) provides an industrial Business Process Management (BPM) solution that digitizes and streamlines production processes -- work instructions and SOPs to corrective action and HACCP monitoring. With Proficy Workflow, companies can improve, eliminate and automate steps in production to lean their organizations -- decreasing time to value on materials, speeding response, lowering TCO and ensuring sustainability. This new industrial BPM software combines manual and automated work processes without custom code, allowing production experts to solve problems immediately without demands on IT. The Proficy Workflow takes a production "flowchart" and digitizes it, connecting the people, materials, equipment and systems involved in the work process.

GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms

Red Lion Controls announces DeviceNet™ support for the G3 series of operator interfaces. This HMI series already offers advanced communication and data management solutions. With the release of the G3DN DeviceNet option card, users can quickly add DeviceNet slave connectivity to any of the G3 units. The card is simply added to the expansion slot during installation and controlled using Red Lion's free Crimson™ 2 software. The complete series of G3 HMIs features a powerful multi-protocol converter combined with three serial ports and an Ethernet port as standard. The G3DN option card enables any connected devices to communicate with DeviceNet products to realize complete system integration and data transfer. In addition, the G3DN option card is isolated, protecting user equipment 2008-528a from potentially harmful ground loops.

Red Lion Controls

The new 8-pole 750-975 Ethernet Connector is a pluggable RJ-45 connector that substantially decreases the time needed for Ethernet wiring. It features insulation displacement contact that provides tool-free, in-the-field conductor wiring -- simply insert a pre-stripped conductor and lower the locking mechanism. Its unique design makes it ideal for applications that are in close proximity to machines, such as those in suspended ceilings or distribution boxes because there is no need for expensive crimp tools or time-consuming preparation for the conductor ends.

WAGO Corporation

Balluff has introduced a completely new family of four machine mount DeviceNet I/O modules. The blocks are part of a new line of ODVA-approved connectivity products that allow design and construction of virtually any DeviceNet™ network. The heart of Balluff's network component system is the series of new design machine-mount I/O blocks. These blocks include 16 input-only, 16 point configurable, 8 input/8 output and 8 output-only models. All blocks come with a complement of innovative features that include robust, full metal low profile housings that can survive rough treatment and still keep cables protected, high density inputs enabling the use of splitters to double the input count, easily accessible set up switches to make addressing and setting the baud rate fast and simple, and 2008-533 large, highly visible status LEDs.

The Datalogic PDA style Pegaso™ mobile computer features Bluetooth communications and 128 MB of RAM. With its durable overmold, IP64 sealing, it withstands multiple drops to concrete from 1.5 meters. Pegaso can be configured with or without 802.11 wireless communications. Accessories include: Four Slot Dock, Ethernet Module, Modern Module, Holster, and multiple cables such as cigarette adapter, USB cable, and DEX cable.

Datalogic Mobile

The ePC Series of industrial computers -- available in three sizes, 15", 17", and 19" -- are available with 5-wire Analog Resistive touchscreens and NEMA sealed panel mount front panels. Their ultra-thin size and very thin panel mounted depth of less than 76.2mm make them suitable for installation in harsh environments, especially hazardous locations. All versions are standard with 100-240 VAC input power supplies, have NEMA 4/4x/2 panel mountable front panels, and are less than 3.0" deep when panel mounted.

For greater efficiency when volume metering products, gathering more accurate batchweights, or reducing fill times, Vortex controls feature variable positioning of the gate blade on the opening or closing strokes and can be ordered for all standard Vortex Orifice Gates™, Clear Action Gates™, Roller Gates and Gravity Vee Diverters™. Vortex controls are available in three variable position, air-actuated options.

AdeptSight™ 2.0 is a powerful expansion of Adept's PC-based machine vision product portfolio. It takes Adept beyond Robot Vision Control Guidance and introduces a number of new features and capabilities that make it easier for systems integrators and automation users to design and use vision guidance and inspection in manufacturing. AdeptSight 2.0 includes a new Colour option, adding acquisition and calibration of colour images, a colour matching tool and colour processing necessary for advanced part inspection. New calibration wizards now support additional camera positions: arm-mounted, tool-mounted, and upward facing cameras to enable development of "inspect while moving" or "Vision-on-the-fly" applications.

Adept Technology, Inc.

In order to provide automation and control applications with the most powerful PC-based controllers possible, Beckhoff Automation announces the new CX1030 Embedded PC. The DIN rail mounted CX1030 is equipped with 1.8 GHz Intel® Pentium® M processor. The CX1030 CPU is cooled by a passive cooling module and an easily exchangeable fan cartridge located on the underside of the housing. In addition to the CPU and the chipset, the CX1030 module contains 256 MB DDR RAM (standard), which is expendable to 512 MB or 1 GB. The CX 1030 operating system can be Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded. TwinCAT automation software transforms a CX 1039 system into a PLC and Motion Control system that can be used with or without visualization.

Beckhoff Automation

AccuTrim™ robots are available in six models including a FANUC robot, RPT process tooling and a unique and proprietary combination of software features and tools designed specifically for path-intensive, non-metallic product trimming applications. AccuTrim robots include the tools needed for applications where a combination of high reliability, tight product tolerances, high path repeatability and quick cycle times are important. AccuTrim robots include quick Tool Center Point Recovery, Collision Guard to protect the robot, expanded robot memory and feature accuracy enhancements, in addition to other proprietary process specific software tools.

FANUC Robotics America

Phoenix Display has introduced a new line of 5.7" monochrome QVGA modules, available in FSTN/gray/positive/transflective or STN/blue/negative/transmissive configurations. These graphic modules allow the user to control each pixel individually to display both text and graphics simultaneously. With a variety of options available, the 5.7" monochrome graphic displays are modular in design and can easily be customized to fit specific applications. The display's PCB can also handle a wide range of other options, including DC-to-DC converter, temperature compensation, on-board RAM, ribbon cable or FPC connection.

Phoenix Display International, Inc.

The True-View™ vision-guided robotic system allows robots to see parts in 3D and react in near real-time to dynamic factory environments. The system eliminates the need for expensive part locating devices or precision dunnage because the robot can now look at a part and modify its path to ensure proper pickup. The single-camera 3D vision system combines ABB robots, off-the-shelf hardware and an eVision Factory™ (eVF™) software platform into a fully integrated package. It eliminates the historical installation challenges 2008-527 pg 13 involved when attempting to combine disparate hardware, software and integration practices into a functional system.

QComp Technologies, Inc.

The RoboTrim® RT-1900 routing system features an inverted, rail-mounted KMT Accu-Trim® R-110 robot inside a steel enclosure with side access door and safety interlocks. The rail provides the robot with the ability to move up to 4.5 meters. Its ergonomic design keeps the Cycle Start, Emergency Stop and other operator controls within easy reach, while the system's light curtains and other standard safety features keep the operator out of harm's way.

Vi-Cas produces vacuum cups which are ideal for handling round, oval and other hard to grip shapes with either smooth or textured surfaces.
